Oh the shock and horror when such high-quality credit loans turn sour........
Oh piss off, This is a poker forum FFS, high stakes guys owing each other millions is as primo as NVG material gets.

Trekking like Abe was PW, PT, CGP, and Abe based on a small sample size of his writing style.

Yea, but one poker player whining about being owed money by another poker player is about as interesting as proclaiming The Sun will rise in the East come tomorrow.

Re: A STATEMENT FROM ELI ELEZRA

Famous players combined with high stakes turn a regular poker game into compelling TV. It’s no different with poker debts.

That being said I don’t know too many lawyers who would endorse the “angrily post your correspondence on a poker message board for revenge” legal strategy.

Think I recognize your name from the politics forum. So I'm going to go ahead and assume Abe's post detailing this debt will be more interesting to everyone here than any post you've ever made.

How gullible. They were both regurgitating old, known & discussed things. NVG is thirsty.

That doesnít mean loan to anybody that asks or not to be smart about it but to have a position that someone deserves to get stiffed for taking a stupid risk or anything similar is an absurd position unless you are playing in games where you can easily access 4 buy-ins from the atm without reaching a daily limit
I'd say the overall payback rate on poker loans is probably around 99% for everyone. Just playing in 5/10 or 10/25 games. People are loaning people money all the time. Reg to Reg,Reg to Recreational. It happens all the time if you play live. In casinos I've lent money to people and borrowed money many times. Only been stiffed once.

Even outside of casino play, in real life I've lent money to family and friends before. Couple of those times I knew it was a risk as the person was in a tough spot. Sometimes you just have to do things like that. As long as I'm not risking my families livelihood I'm going to do it even if it's not "smart" financially.

Cliffs:

Eli Wrote a book
Eli had an AMA to promote the book
Eli said he always pays his debts
Cole South came on AMA and said he lent Eli 100k and he slowly paid back 60K and hasn't returned calls for 4 years
NVG went nuts and said Eli is a sociopath
Mason said the book was gonna lose them 18,000
Someone that was thought to be a troll came on and screamed from the mountain top that Eli owes millions especially to Abe Mossari
That "troll" was banned about 5 times
Mason said Eli would make a statement
Eli did make a statement
Seems to have made peace with Cole south
Abe signs on and says I am contacting my lawyer, this statement is BS, he owes me a million
2+2 confirms it was Abe that said the previous statement
Turns out the "troll" was actually right
All NVG'ers get pop corn and await!

Re: A STATEMENT FROM ELI ELEZRA

I thought Eli's statement was honest enough without him trying to make himself look to bad.

To sum it up, he was hit hard financially (broke) once Full Tilt money stopped coming in and his businesses started failing.

He borrowed money he could no longer afford to pay back. He probably did whatever he could to stay in the big games hoping things would turn around.

Unable to win in those games, he can't pay people back. I'm sure he has done some pretty scummy things in the course of borrowing the money and not paying it back.

Desperation.

Great statement Eli.

1- ~10 years ago, Cole was a little kid who gave a high stakes gambler 100k. We have no idea what was in it for him, access to games, fish, drugs, girls more money but i assume it wasn't an altruistic deal..

2- He recovered 60k so essentially made a 40k mistake a relative small mistake for a gambler like him.

3- when Eli's PR campaign started he could have used this as leverage to get his 40k back, at least in a private setting.

4- I have no idea what Cole's endgame is but it looks a lot like an emotional outburst/ego thing driven by whatever **** he is in atm. he was having million dollar swings at the time he lost 40k to eli and that is about 10 years ago. Not sure why Eli's integrity as a gambler (known degen with millions in debts that lies about it in public, surprise surprise) suddenly affects Cole so much. Is he broke?

5- Whenever we do business with somebody there is a reasonable chance that the other party can't keep up to his terms of the agreement. Going public after 5 years of silence using ego as motivation is a tricky tactic.Posting private messages "as so called proof" without full disclosure can come back to you. There are plenty of ways to deal with people their gambling debts, but public shaming during book release is not the way to go. It has a lot of consequences for everybody involved, and not just Eli. All by all the book is about Eli, a gambler, not the pope.

In the games you play in nobody brings enough money or they're all broke or what? I've never seen this where it's common place to be passing money around.

Hell, I got stacked in my small blind at 5/T once and tried to borrow $1k just so the button wouldn't skip me and that was a no go even though I had $30k on my person (it just wasn't accessible enough for me to pull out quickly).

So what you're saying is that Eli is not going to pay Cole back.

Hate to be a downer too, but if he is talking to lawyers they will most likely suggest that no good will come from posting details here.

I can’t figure out your point. I guess using the information as a threat is the idea, but would Ei care? (And the other debtors you mention could just do the same.)

You missed the part where Eli had been ghosting Cole for years and denying that there were any debts, and as a result of Cole’s posts has at least contacted Cole and acknowledged the debt. He still might not get paid, but at least there’s some satisfaction.

Admittedly he had to violate the apparent sanctity of a book release promo period, but sometimes serious methods are called for.

To me, after everything has been said and done in this thread, terribad (thanks for embarrassing yourself East Coast Ballerina) to very very goood, we should bring it down to this because this is ultimately the cliffs:

So CTS and Eli let's hear it out. Don't just drop your cute littles nuggets.

Suss it out here and now in NVG!

That's what is needed!
