Pretty decent statement. More then expected.

The responses in this thread are laughable. Never was I more convinced that a high percentage of the people posting in these threads live in their moms basement. It's like they have no clue about real world.

Obviously not everyone, but at least 50% of the responses in this thread seem to be from young people with very little real life experience.

First, to Eli - Sababa

Next, this whole situation reminds me of something similar that happened to me. Back in the early 2000's I was playing in a prelim event in the Aruba Classic with a "semi-famous" pro. We had a good time and he then asked me if I could loan him 10k for 1 day. Knowing his name (and not knowing better) I said sure.

The next day, I see him playing in a cash game and walk over to ask for my money - he says "yeah, sorry I need some more time" and basically ignores me. A guy that I had played with in live tourneys (and seemed to know everyone) walks over and whispers in his ear - he looks startled gets up, comes back 5 minutes later and hands me my 10k.

Background, in those days I was a prosecutor and often used my badge as a card protector (tacky, I know). Anyway, I went up to the "whisperer" and asked him what did you say to him. He responded I just said "It's pretty stupid to try to steal from a guy with a badge". I laughed and bought him dinner.

Prior to that I assumed that there was some kind of "poker player's code" regarding borrowing money. Of course, I never lent money to a poker player again.

I think it’s funny the perception people have of lending money in a casino. There are countless reasons people would have to borrow money at a casino and I’ve probably been pod back >99% of the time. Lots of times if you aren’t willing to loan money the game will break and if everyone has the same naive approach of never loan money games will stop running.

That doesn’t mean loan to anybody that asks or not to be smart about it but to have a position that someone deserves to get stiffed for taking a stupid risk or anything similar is an absurd position unless you are playing in games where you can easily access 4 buy-ins from the atm without reaching a daily limit

I can’t imagine it either, but that’s because I can’t imagine a world where money doesn’t really have any meaning because every month somebody gives me a pile of it for no real reason and it’s going to keep happening forever, and I spend all day with other people being given their own piles of money and we pass that money around a table.

Then one day...whoa, it all has A LOT of meaning again and I am NOT prepared for that.

Apparently, you have to be a perfect human being to not endorse theft. Also, stealing is part of growing up. I seriously wonder what type of person would be so lax about scammers.

We will be posting a statement about Eli Elezra as soon as I hear back from my lawyers. The statement he made is sham as I know it.

The content will not only be my story but will include threatening and alot of texts and etc he has made in the past few years about the sensational substantial amount of money he owes me and possibly about many others.

He has given me no choice to do this and has taken to far

Eli's statement was full of crap, and in fact took a very entitled "You knew I may not pay you back when you loaned me the money" attitude, which was quite off-putting.

BTW, I'm nowhere near being a "young person". I'm a few years away from 50.

I have to give this Privatetime guy credit. He's really persistent.
