martin made 1 big mistake
he had a chipstack tell and this tell was pius told in a break maybe 1 hour before the end, you can see how pius walked to his rail and they told him that

when martin bluffs he uses several small amounts of chips to stack them to the betting amount and when he 'had it' he uses one big chunk of his stack

just look at the coverage again, in like 90% this tell was right

idk why, Im huge poker nerd and even I dont give a **** about some donkament. I guess its interesting for general public tho, or smth.

its a huge bummer to read that he's not gonna spew on hookers and blow too.

The Underdog story. He was working in a factory just a year ago, lives alone in a cheap flat eating mircowave pizzas glad he scored so well he was the guy to root for.

But even though I am Czech I have to agree Heinz winning is just better for poker overall, he will go splash on live tourneys and his aggro style will give him a ton of coverage, Staszko wold end up like Cada or Duhamel (where are those guys seriously?)

He's a sick player - thought he outplayed Heinz for large slabs of HU. Hope to see him making deep runs in tournaments round the globe in future. Very easy to root for him. Congrats Martin on your run, you deserve every $ you earned today.

While Heinz went off partying with Lamb, Staszko unwinded by going up to his hotel room and having a six hour game of chess against the computer.

Staszko, I wish you could have closed that deal. more pressure next time when you got that guy on the defensive.

this could have been decided in one hand much earlier on that table.

Staszko is awesome. I'm sure the money will help him out a lot but he doesn't seem like a guy who really cares about it either.

"He began playing poker in 2007, initially playing online. At that time, Staszko worked as foreman at a Hyundai Nošovice automobile manufacturing plant. He was in charge of around 200 workers, earning a little over CZK 30,000 (€1,200) a month. Meanwhile, he was able to win an equivalent of six-months salary a night online. In 2010, following a win of €35,000 in France, Staszko decided to leave his job in order to fully concentrate on gaming.[3]

His runner-up finish in the 2011 Main Event garnered him $5.43 million (€3,98 million).[4] At the time of his participation, he was driving a fifteen-year-old Toyota and lived alone in a small apartment.[3]"

I thought a fairly reliable tell on Staszko was that he tended to look at the dealer as he bet or raised when he had a strong hand.

I really liked his mannerisms and was rooting for him. Thought he was charming. Never seen so much staring in a televised table before.

I was rooting for Staszko. It's a great story. Dude was a factory worker like a year ago, probably barely making ends meet. Found poker and the rest is history as they say.

Seems like totally down to earth cool guy. As someone else stated in another thread, anti-douche. He deserves the big score. Too bad he didnt win, even though I have nothing against Heinz either. But I guess $5,4 million is enough for him for the rest of his life, which makes me happy. Makes me glad, gg Martin, all the best!

PS. Does anyone know how much of himself he had? I hope at least 75%
