Sort of surprised this has not been talked about here yet.

Seems a big change in policy and one that regs wont be happy about.

this is actually a good change, I dont think regs will be unhappy (except for satty grinders specifically, but I dont think theres many of them left)

still, the language that blog post is written in makes my eyes bleed

Good for live games. I was once thinking of playing for a mere seat, but saw the juice and variance being higher and gave up of the idea.

I figured they would go this route. For some stops it will work but for others it will be a disaster. I understand sats and feasible turnouts and this move will slightly increase uniques in the long run for the bigger draws but it will bury more obscure stops due to min requirements not being reached in the online sats.
Not to be ignored that this will increase Star's bottom line.

It really depends on how often the sats run. Daily? Weekly? Depending on this it will greatly affect the feeder sats if this policy applies to them as well.

In general guarantees will decrease in the short run but will increase over time for the bigger draws. But the smaller Live Events will get killed as they need the t grinders just to hit 1 seat guarantee.

Thank god. Now people actually have a chance at winning a seat. When you have satty grinders who have solved every spot and always know exactly what to do, that greatly reduces the chance a rec or weaker player will win a seat. A lot of value was being lost by having regs win multiple seats and the sats were infinitely tougher. It's not as bad now but used to be terrible back in the day. Same guys always winning multiple seats and packages. Not to mention there was talk of collusion happening in the old EPT sats. Great move stars!

Congrats Stars, the positive:negative change ratio from the past few years is now only 1:350. If only they had a live tournament series that anyone actually cared about left... RIP EPT

I remember back in the day getting to a step 5 or 6 WSOP Stars sat ususally with Stevebets who I think one year won almost $1 million in seats there was others but he was the one I saw the most I remember. And Telefonkiosk on a euro site winning a bunch of seats...ahh good times!

A 3 seat guarantee sending 3 people to a live event is better than a 5 seat guarantee sending nobody.

That´s a fair point - i guess we have to see how this all will workout in the End. I don´t mind obv that the Sats won´t be full of the grinders anyway.

This is great - considering Stars have recently started doing sats for GPS events, and I expect they'll do more for some other regional events soon it will only be better for those events.

Never take joy in a "winning player" been put out of work by an operator even if it's to your short run gain. Because the last part of that sentence will be the operators next mission.
