Seems like there is already action on two board NL from 2cent-5cent up to possible 10/20 stakes. Also no bumhunting with the new lobby system.

Let the games begin.

More chopped pots, more rake which is great for poker community.

only somewhat cool game type they've released in years, probably still massive rake trap but I feel we've been crying for new formats / game types coming out online for cash games like people do in live games (2 board PLO next?)

Happy it's not a 3x hyper beat the clock spin n rake yourself sng

Good way to fight bots if new game types are constantly coming out / keeps recs playing and hopping in news games where regs maybe don't have as much of the game solved / more reg battles.
(this is all good as long as stars isn't somehow raising rake more than normal games beyond not letting you buyin for full 100bb / more split pots = paying more rake

I've played plenty of 2 board PLO and Courchevel live and it's a decent game (though personally Im not a huge fan), but I think that this could be pretty boring with NLHE, since correct strategy should be ultratight preflop, as hands like suited connectors are super weak because of very low chances of scooping. I might be wrong, but even in PLO it seems like people are playing slightly tighter pre with 2 boards.

Stars introduces another rake trap to protect recreational players

Why does it look like every single pot is all-in and split? Is this due to the near impossibility of scooping and thus a futile struggle in fold equity?

It's bigger average pots but lower variance and lower edges. It's a rake machine

If this thread refers to a high-low holdem game, that game was tried about 17 years ago on Truepoker.

The game was literally an accidental development outcome as the development team programming Omaha split for the software thought there was also a Holdem split variation.

We posted it for play about 6 months but it did not get much play. Since it was literally an accident, we dropped it fr lack of player interest.

It actually seems like almost every pot which is any reasonable size postflop gets split. NLHE makes it easy enough to figure out if it's even remotely likely that you're beat on both boards. If you aren't, then ship it all in and split.
Split board PLO would have less split pots, ironically.

Example:
You have AK. Flops are:
AT3
58Q

Villain bets. You can LITERALLY NOT BE BEAT ON BOTH BOARDS (*other than if villain has the case aces..*), so you ship it and stars wins. Not to mention what a real-time-software can do to this game lol..

PLO would have actual game play.

Seems like a fun game. Lock one board and just jam. They should really change this to pot limit imo.

It's fun if you don't like money and think more rake is better.

Just to be sure that's what I meant.

E and if ps wants new games why not bring 6c plo from ftp? It used to run just fine.

It better be because practically no one gives a damn about what he has to say in 2018.

Triple board PLO is the real game. Has been played live for years in London, England.
It has a great deal of skill, much of it subtle concerning starting hand selection and bet sizing and pot control post flop.

The majority of boards wins so there are very few split pots. E.g. you can win 1 board, tie one board and lose 1 board in a 3 way pot and you still scoop, 1 1/2, 1, 1/2, but typically the winning player will win 2 boards or all 3.

2 board NLHE sounds like a complete and utter joke. A blatant rake trap as others have already stated.

it is truly sad to see someone who was a respected opinion leader, nominated poker ambassador, get so ****ing corrupted to the point where anything he says will be *at best* taken with a lot of skepticism.
He seems to be the kind of person that is driven by the urge to develop himself, become better in every aspect of life and never be satisfied as long as there is something that can be improved. How the **** did this happen? Were we all wrong about him, did he just fool us all, or did he simply give in to the comfort of betraying his own values for the monies?

Extra sad to think that the genesis for this game may have originated with the likes of myself griping about split pots being raked, and profit-strategists noticing and thinking, "Yessss, how can we split more pots???"
