We should have received an email about this. I've received no less than 3 emails in the last 2 weeks enticing me to reload but not one email about rake increase.

I think it will be 9.70+1.30 and would be under the circumstances pleased with 9+1 and will be disappointed with 9.50+1.50. The latter is not necessarily impossible and will be reached by 2020 unless the US gets somehow fully legal leaving a market that brings out the best for consumers via fighting competition.

Mass cashouts + mass migration to another site incoming? If you don't like it you must cashout and play elsewhere. Nothing is going to improve if you keep playing. A 3day boycott while leaving your roll on stars ain't changing anything either.

At this point after all the **** that stars has pulled over the years with still having a majority marketshare of players for a mass cashout/migration to happen stars would either have to literally close/go bankrupt or have a massive security issue with LOTS of people having money stolen. Or have literal 100% rake on all games even then I'm not sure the recs would engage their brain to leave the site

So Dnegs is saying that the old poker stars reduced the rake at 2nl and as a result of lowered rake a whole bunch of 'pros' starting destroying 2nl rec players?

Stars do have SNGs with over 10% rake at the lowest stakes. like 1.27+0.23 or something like that.

So many random numbers thrown around in this thread that the actual level of increase is going to be buried quite a few pages in and is going to be about the 15th set of figures mentioned.

I propose that when we have some hard data this thread gets locked and a new one started with the changes set out in the OP of the new thread.

rake increase wouldn't be bad if they upped their promotions and rakeback a ton. Which they never did, quite the contrary in the last years. Hypers gonna be back at 10% at least...

You can't really move if you're a MTT player that grinds a lot, there's just nowhere to go, unlike cashgame players that don't play Zoom and just stay out of comfort

The thread title at least needs changing because in the lobby, micro tournaments are <$5 and low tournaments are <$20 so it's not just micro that's affected.

I know micro players have always paid more rake in the hu, single and mtt sngs but this increase affects more than micro players.

People didn't leave when they were shafted by chests and sadly they won't leave now.

It's going to be interesting to see what the other sites do. I've always wondered why they didn't at least try to charge less rake than stars and advertise themselves as lower rake sites, at least try something to close the gap. But now they don't need to lower their rake to charge less as stars has done it for them.

But I think greed will win and probably take us another step closer to killing the golden goose because other sites actually charge more for micro sngs than stars. 888's low sng lobby has eyewatering rake and it's mainly dead.

You can easily get a schedule going between Party and 888 as long as you don't play between like 12-5 am eastern time. Party even has (upto) cash 40% rb. You're just making excuses otherwise for supporting Stars.

Most rec players don't even know what rake is, and the regs are so stupid, that you can be guaranteed PS will just keep increasing rake, until there is a noticeable hit to the player pool which might be never, so it's just free money for them.

If anyone from another site is reading this, please just update your software. It's stars only competitive advantage that they have left.

Can anyone actually blame a company with investor and shareholder interests wanting to increase their profits? I mean that's what most corporations do if I'm not mistaken :?

I played 99% of my volume always on ps. Despite of more and more new thrilling changes, I accepted them and just kept doing my thing as it is always our choice to select the room and if we don't accept provided rules of service, we don't have to use them. I swallowed rakeback changes and other bs, but now I'm just really discussed with them so I think it's time to go other place.
And I am really rooting for Party Poker that they will use this opportunity in a good way and become #1 again in some time or at least get closer to it.

Still no custom hotkeys for some reason. And their mtt lobby is horrible, I'm not even sure you can filter between holdem and plo tourneys. Plus a lot of missed input data, especially annoying when you play fastforward and have to smash the fold key 3 times before it folds.

For those wondering, the rake can now be seen when looking at some of the tournaments listed for next week.

The $11 Mini Monday for example is $9.80+1.20

A $22 Mini Triple Threat PKO Zoom is still $10+10+2 (not sure why that did not change)

Super Tuesday $22 is also still $20+2

A later on $11 KO is changed to $4.90+4.90 +1.20


So, based on what the tournament lobby shows for now - tournaments that are $22 are not changed, those below it are at about 11% rake now, vs 10% before.

Obviously this assumes that the tournament lobbies will not be changed later on.
