Don't forget there have been plenty of rake hikes since the "old" system as well. So your 2% is essentially less than 0% would have been previously.

hahah honestly, the chest could be exciting if they actually contained rewards ... Same rewards as their initial system, but achieved through chests to keep it exciting for casual players.

I loved the old simple stars system. I enjoyed the continuous progress during a session as the bar filled up. I obviously loved the rewards as well ...

I understand the psychology behind the chests, their ''excitement'', visual rewards, randomness. I understand how well this works with games and why ... But we still need actual consistent rewards haha .. It will take a casual player forever to earn chest at the new rate.

''Excitement'' is gone at 2% , its completely pointless now. Even for fun players.

Don't forget your "Spin of the Day". You get a freeroll ticket everyday for free. And when you are lucky like me you can even get a $0,10 SnG ticket. That will boost your rakeback a lot xD

I remember unlocking the $50 nova bonus was awesome and that 50 bucks was always real handy. You could also save up and buy amazon vouchers with your VPPs.
At the time pounds sterling with worth nearly $2. A £50 amazon voucher used cost the equivalent of $55 in VPPs which was awesome.

Does the new new chest rewards have a bug? I got to bronze chests this month. At first i need 750 points to get one chest. After i got chest the points went to 1250 and today after i got another chest the points jump to almost 4000 for 1 bronze chest.
This must be a bug right? I need to collect 40$ in rake to open 1 bronze 0.5$ chest?

Small fish problem

I'm a rec player who haven't played for almost 2 years, I remembered I had 850 star coins and 100$ on the site, so I thought I would play a bit to get to 1000 star coins get the 10$ and take out my money... Well, it looks like I'll stop. Opened 3 chests and didn't get any star coins. It looks like I'll have to play forever just to get 150 star coins... Even as a rec/micro stakes player, I think this chest system sucks.

Is anyone here on the top black chest? Normally it requires 65k points to clear it but this time I have one for 335k? anyone know why?

If your comment is about how PokerStars is **** re rake and their rewards system etc, I see where you’re coming from.

However my question is a genuine one that has never occurred to me therefore I am seeking an answer. I have emailed stars support and will await their answer but this forum has always been a great medium to ask questions with people from the community.

kiwihaze same thing happened to me. I went from 35k to 335k. Have you been winning lately or changed your volume?

In my case my bankroll had a huge increase over the past few months due to the rakeback challenge. After I cleared that and reduced my volume a bit is when my chest cost sky rocketed.

Sounds like all of our conditions match up then. Although I only started making the withdrawals after they nerfed my chest. I was actually planning on continuing to put high volume in at 35k/chest since 20% rakeback on the best pokersite was a very good deal imo. They shot themselves in the foot.

I managed to clear the 335k chest last week and I got $200 in cash and $10 in starscoin from it, so it was reasonable, but still only works out to 6.2% rb.

Can anyone at the black level estimate their rakeback EV?

Floats around 2-3 percent. Eg I’ve paid approx 10k in take and got somewhere between 200-300 dollars including cash and star coins. Not incl tickets or whatever

Paid around 2000 USD or even more(120k points but playing mostly mtts and sngs I only get only half poinst for every $ I rake) diamond chest and got 12.5$ in coins and a freeroll ticket.

Got the upgrade, now gold chests for 5000 points. Woohoo.
