Evidently it's different from player to player, but currently I need 1200 points i.e. I need to pay $12 in rake to unlock a bronze chest.

I do have 360 points of "boost" though, which means for the next $3.60 worth of rake I generate twice the amount of points.

Thus I need to pay $9,40 in rake to unlock this bronze chest, so I guess that's about 11% rakeback for this one.

I had silver status in the old VIP system and played fairly regularly.

Speed of progress however is personalized (based on play history and # of deposits) so only after a while will anyone get an impression of their unlock rates.
Did they remove VIP status in denmark?

No that's not correct, sorry for the confusion. When I said "pay table" I meant it in the sense of a slto machine or video poker pay table. I should have said "payout table" to be clear.

All I meant to say was: They published the different prizes that can be inside the chest and the probabilities of each. From there you can work out the EV on each Chest. Like with CardMatch etc. The Chest is "free" to open once you earn it through play.

It is "personalized", so no. You're right, it's useless on its own. But, once a player gets their progress bar and sees how much it will take them to complete it, the table will be useful to see on average how much that is worth. From there, someone can work out their own personal expected "rakeback" for that chest.

Edit: Just like Molterjet did above.

And 8.77% rakeback for any chests you open after that one on the same day. Bargain!!!

Seems like there is the same big disconnect between Pokerstars / Amaya higher ups and what their players want / like as there is between politicians / media / elite and the everyday person on the street.

Wonder how this one is going to work out.

Sick, assuming you have played NL2 cashgame under the old system, you'd have had 27-38% rakeback (Silverstar, 10VPPs/1$ rake) , so up to 70% less under the new system. Looks like it's even hitting hard Micro-stakes.

My first gold chest comes out at an expected Rakeback of 3,889%. I need 18k points (180$ rake) to unlock it and the ev of the chest is about 7$. I play high stakes but that's more than an 85% reduction. Maybe the expected rakeback is higher for some of the other chests (wouldn't surprise me if it's not).

f me
so a 5/10 player has to pay $1.8million on average to get a chest that contains a buy in
i wonder what you need to pay if you have to redeem a platinum chest with the same top prize
$5million? $10million maybe?

Others didn't and either ran hot, gambled money away or quit. But they aren't complete idiots.
If poker is taking the route of making a very small % of players win huge amounts by winning on pure random-reward games and more players will lose, the word will spread and lots of potential and former customers aren't gonna pump money in a system they have a super small chance of beating on their own skill.

There are so many options of making poker more gimmicky (how are there no badges for achievements to display near the avatar yet? some would like it and it doesn't hurt anyone) and I'm all in favor of it, if it doesn't change the reasonable perspective of poker being a game of skill that can be beat with a reasonable effort, which created a market.
posts like this are hilarious.
there is some truth in it but it's so disingenuous.

Any REC from Denmark here? Would really be interesting to see if it's also in the ballpark of 10% (which would make it an incredible money-grab from Amaya)

Pretty sure people understood my post. I was just sharing some information about the new system, not writing an English essay. Chill.

Not everyone would realise it wasn't just a random huge number for the purpose of irony. That's why I posted the clarification.

But I'll chill about the mistake if you chill about the clarification

So you're suggesting giving out less rewards and/or aiming at unbeatable poker variants is good for recreational players? I'm obv arguing from a reg perspective (btw I never mentioned any software or such, u made that up) but if u wanna attack that, try to target the argument instead of my motivation...

Thx to the Danish guys keeping players informed.
