I am so confused by this change - at least before I knew where i was! Has anyone managed to work out the difference if say I was regularly achieving silver star (1650 star coins each month) compared to now?

The highest buy-in of 6-max hypers on offer at Party is $109 ($105.18+3.82). The highest running game of this type at this semi-off-peak hour is $22 (1 table, $21.15+0.85). I'll check again tomorrow at the peak.

Most of the hyper action is of course in SNG Hero. I can't tell the traffic precisely because the lobby is blind and I'm not playing such high stakes. The observation of top multipliers reveals that, most of the time, the biggest games running at the $50 ($47.50+2.50) and $100 ($95+5) levels (where the game is now 3-max with 3-minute blinds and no bounty, like in Stars Spin & Go) are 4x, which means that, usually, only several games of each of those BIs are running at the same time. This is not a huge deal because one is not allowed to open more than 4 Hero tables, which means that one can play no more than 30 games an hour on avg, even no more than 25 at the $50-100 BI because of the somewhat long waiting times there. That said, the low traffic implies that one runs into the same opponents again and again.

3-man Flip & Gos are available at Stars in the play money lobby. The experience of other poker sites shows, however, that real money flips are rather unpopular even among recreationals.

Eventually we will be playing with nothing but rake and if we play enough we'll get some of it back.

Have realized a kind of not immediately obvious way this new system favours casual players over grinders. If you play just enough to achieve one chest a day between the boosts and points awarded from your previous chest you will effectively double the rake back percentage that you get. All they have to do is be sure of end their session as soon as their current boost is completed and open the chest they earned. The next time they come back they will have a fresh boost that will complete the next chest plus start on the chest after that, and repeat. Provided they end their session once the boost is over they will always be getting double points for rake paid and can achieve one chest per session. The grinder that keeps on playing without a boost will be paying double for their second, third, etc. chests.

Has anybody even won anything substantial from these chests yet? At least with spins or the deal you hear about somebody hitting the jackpot from time to time...

I got two diamond chests, when do they expire now? Like in 3 months if I don't play anymore? Or do i have to keep getting to that diamond one from zero day by day. Thank you.

If you don't open them and let them stack up, they expire after 3 months. There is no benefit to letting them stack up.

Each day you start from where you left off - if you were 50% to getting one, it'll still be like that the next day.

Every 8 hours after the last one runs out, you get a "boost" - 2x earning rate towards chests. Shows as yellow area on the progress bar.

Earn 4 chests in one day and you "rank up" - chests get larger but are earned slower. Similarly, if you don't earn chests quickly the reverse happens. The EV/points required of chests is broadly similar.

Thank you for the answer, I think I didn't ask correctly tho, I opened the diamond chests already and my doubt now is if/when they'll expire or get downgraded to gold for example (in one day, one week, etc w/o playing). Very helpful explanation dave, didn't know about the boosts.

same here. Best Promo they have had. Was sooo much fun grinding sngs whetever you landed a cash or not, just a sweat the entire week. Best thing for all the Players and dumbest Decision on their Part to remove it other than the basically no rakeback they now give out which will kill the Pokersite in the longrun ( will do well with the Casino though ). RIP Stars, thx for a few cool Years we spent together.

Well there are 33k players online at the moment, at an off-peak time. If those players average $3 in rb then that's 100k and 10% of the way there to the $1m. Don't think it's a stretch at all that they've given away a million in the 5 days or so that the new system has been running.

Btw, they're not actually adding $10m to the rewards system. They're giving away $1k chests until they've given out $10m total over the whole reward system.

Their UKGC license has pretty straightforward rules on misleading promotions/advertising, they've clearly set that up to appear as if they're adding $10mil worth of $1,000 prizes. A little surprising they think that's within the rules.
