Now that they have been running this "chests" thing for a few months, I can tell you that in my opinion it is a terrible promotion.

As a fairly dedicated recreational player, I used to collect between several hundred up to as much as a couple of thousand starcoins a week. I plowed every one of these back into the games in the form of tournament tickets and the occasional cash reward, so the rakeback was only gaining me a little bit of free play, but at least I felt I was getting something back.

This week, with approximately the same level of play as before, I have collected less than 200 starcoins and one X .25 tournament money.

This is a "promotion" that makes playing less fun, and I feel no anticipation for the chests, I just feel it's a drag having to wait for them to open. You click on it and it bounces around. I guess this is the fun part. To me it is just a time waster. The problem is that if you decide to let them sit and open them all at once, all it does is take up even more time and becomes even more annoying than it already was.

Every time I open a chest it pisses me off. Way to go, Stars.

Then stop being a dumb ass and grinding there.

The chests are an embarrassment. It is a shame to see what has happened to them given they have always had such a strong brand. I've decided to no longer play on their site.

the announcment is that EPT is back, so they reverted yet another change they made due to incompetence. How money people are still in the <they know what they are doing> camp?

Completed Chests can be opened before, during or after your session, and expire after 3 calendar months if unopened. Expired Chests have no value and cannot be retrieved. The actual rewards will be configured by the system at the time you open a Chest, not at the time you earn them.

Yes, they do steal your starcoins after 6(?) months of inactivity.

Are people actually this unaware? Wow. And winning 450 bucks in 6 months doesn’t make u a winning player. It’s called a waste of time.

The reason Amaya can do things like this and not go bankrupt is precisely because players are this unaware.

There is a market for lottery games if they can basically give people access to foreign games.

However, using the PokerStars name to promote casino games and lotteries taints the brand in my opinion. I can see why they would want to use an existing, established name to give them a platform for other gaming, but it's a mistake I think. Better to create a spin off brand with a new name and then offer some kind of incentive for PokerStars players to use both.

I could... I think. Assuming poker remains in its current state it would prob take me 2-4 years of full time playing ...with maybe a 3% chance outlier of much quicker obv involving large binks. Prob a similar % of making less after 4 years. Variance is ridiculous now

Like someone said though . What a ****ing terrible waste of time. That’s what poker is now. I normally make well over that in a 6 months running businesses I love

(!) Come to think of it...I couldn’t do it. MTT Poker was FUN back then. Lots of chat and fun multi way play. Poker is miserable now. Far too many nit grinders....add bots, ghosting, software cheats. pros have ruined the enjoyment factor. And that’s what’s killing the games. Not Amayas tactics to arrest its slide into oblivion

My pointing out recent or past results is just a reaction to posters accusing me of being a losing player due to my disdain of the actions and mindset of the pro poker community.

Instead of being bitter about your declined rakeback income, how about get happy about the improvement of win rate in what appears to me to be recently improved games (that’s what I’ve noticed in 25-50 PLO and low mid stakes MT sngs anyway)
