Every 2 weeks my chests cost double then they go back to normal for another 2 weeks.
For example bronze,silver and gold cost normally 14.00/34.00/78.00 then they go at 23.50/68.00/180.00 with no added value of the chest-resulting my RB going from 5-10% to 2.5-5%.
This is happening without changing the volume or stake and without withdrawing/depositing.

Just keep consistently loosing and you will keep the cheap chests.

Anyone got a guesstimate as to how many millions this cash grab has taken from the players?

Actually a friend of mine , who is a reg on HU SNG tables, and literally never deposited on Stars after his initial deposit opened up a 1000$ chest. Not trolling.

Got a "really great chest" as my first chest after returning to play after a couple of weeks of no activity yesterday (5,30$ bronze).

It first made me think "rigged!", and then I took another look at the chests value and it reminded me how absolutely worthless chests are.

I still think chests have huge potential if their value wouldn't be total ****. People love scratch tickets and a huge majority of poker players probably favors a scratch ticket over a flat reward. So sad the chest introduction was timed together with reducing RB to absolutely nothing.

i got a $55 cash prize after getting a few $1-5 cash/sports betting tokens

my rec mate got $100 chest after 3 week hiatus, and heard this more
pretty sure its rigged this way

the highest ever possible was 1k from any chest and that was for the beginning chest promo til they gave away $10m or w.e in chest prizes, now the highest you can get is tiered



so if you win the lottery equivalent of a chest you better hope it's a plat chest or you wasted all your luck to get $50-500



Also ya seems if you don't play much and/or you lose a ton you get more favourable rewards

You forgot to mention that you get the top prize from any chest 1 time out of 10 000.

Just looking at my rewards, for the first 6 months of the year I made $718 from stars coins and card match promos. In the (almost) 3 months since then I've made $104.

Chests would be awesome if PS used a system like this:

*Chests are the equivalent between 40% and 25% RB for Red-Bronze chests, 35-20% for Silver-Platinum chests.
*Your points goal for your next chest is not determined by a vague formula determined on your volume and profitability, but simply on your profitability. Everybody start off at the highest RB%. If you won money pre RB during your last chest, your points goal will increase and your RB will drop with 2%. If you lost money, your points goal will decrease and your RB will increase with 2%. Obviously you can never go higher or lower than the limits listed higher.

*The reward probabilities are comparable to the existing ones, excluding the top tier (1 in 10.000) one.
*Every chest has the chance to win $1.000, seperate from the "normal" reward probabilities. For every 100k that is raked, a $1.000 bonus is added in a random chest. The $1.000 is added to a random player's next chest out of all the players that earned the minimum of 1 chest during the period that the 100k was raked. This gives everyone a chance to win the highest reward and also will generally favor recs as well. Players that play low limits will also love that they have a chance to win 1k.

Rakeback at the micros for casual players must be over 100% at the moment.

I play a few hands every day to do my Usain Bolt challenge, this is a min of $0.50 per day plus $1.50 Saturday and Sunday, say $6 per week.

I get 2 or 3 red chests a week and I put the star coins on The Deal when the jackpot hits 6 figures, this gives me $2-$4 lately for around 40 star coins.

The micro-recs have never had it so good!

I do think they need to up the frequency of the chests, change the current 4 chest system to 10 chests (so 240 point chests become 100 points etc.) and each chest becomes easier to obtain, people will grind until they hit their next chest. Oh and bring back Cardmatch, great way to get casuals to play a couple of 100 hands every day.

I just binked a 53k stars coin chest from either a bronze or blue chest...confused, since the max for them is $100 and $250 respectively...or is that value just cash/T$?

That is from cash rewards only , tourney $$$ and starscoins I presume are random up to apparently a very high amount. Do you happen to have a pic/proof? That's a lot of coins. Also have you been winning or losing lately if you don't mind answering?

haha I actually didn't grab a screenshot, I opened like 5 chests at once and just quickly clicked through the animation garbage and like 2-3s after I closed the 53k chest it registered in my head that I'd just read "53,000" and did a double-take/checked my cashier to make sure. Here's a screenshot from a starscoin audit, though.



And yes, I've been winning recently, play predominately SNGs.

This was the first chest I've ever hit w/ a value > than like $8, too hahaaha My total RB received since inception of the chests was like 4% or something stupid before yesterday

Sad that I am from Canada therefore do not have the casino side of pokerstars or I could get some real use out of this great promo they're advertising!
