Sorry Op for this. But - the pandemic procedures and the ADA will support the Venetian in this circumstance.

Still get an ADA experienced lawyer, as many times the business will pay out a small settlement as it will be cheaper for them than paying legal 20 or so hours...

Gzesh first mentioned a claim. He's a lawyer.

Agree in principle, but no court should award damages here without an ongoing issue with ADA and Venetian. A glitch is gonna happen as good people try to figure how what gets precdence (covid safety or ADA access). Qualified immunity beaches it's not just for cops anymore.

The ADA has been law for a quarter century. Warnings given. Not sure I think the ADA should be so strict in this situation, but the Venetian should have had someone with ADA expertise making sure they were giving proper accomodations, and they didn't. That's the problem. How much did they spend fixing up the casinos? I hear millions. Hire a guy.

Yea, I think hes referring to the fact that money always gets thrown into the equation when it could be an honest mistake.

I am not commenting on this exact scenario *

Is this thread a safe place where we can openly share our real feelings on disabled people?

And yet, his (and my) general point still stands. A lawsuit is this thread's straw man, and it's been knocked down and run over dozens of times now.

It was VideoPro, the OP, who first mentioned a lawsuit, in post 7

Yes. Since they came to an accommodation, I'm doubtful that will proceed.

Give him a free entry to the next tournament and send Adelson to prison IMO.

Sorry if i somehow missed it, but after skimming through the 5 pages of arguing didnt really see any mention of what ended up happening past the original post?

Last it says in op was the update of they are sitting there hours after the big showdown.

Are they somehow still sitting there 5 days later lol? did security tell them to leave?

As someone who has been kicked out of Venetian poker room (just for the night) Im curious to see what played out..

lol, being a lawyer and being a dimwit are not mutually exclusive attributes..

I've known a few who qualify on both counts.

No. EPA rules forbids it without an Environmental Impact Statement.

the venitian managed to top that pos with this garbage.

It could also be argued that a person with the need of a personal assist is counted as 1 person under the covid rules.

This will be an interesting case, that should be settled quickly out of court.

If that were the case, it could also be argued that only one of them would need to wear a mask.

Complying with ADA rules is not optional. It's up to the Venetian/LVS to comply with both covid regulations and ADA. If they can't, then don't open. You can't cite covid regulations as a reason for disregarding the ADA.

If the gaming regulations conflict with ADA, you cease the gaming operation.

Half the posters in this thread clearly don't care about disability rights -- what a sad state of the world when people are seriously suggesting that a disabled person "call ahead" to politely ask that a multibillion dollar company comply with federal law.

So all should be denied entry if one smaller group can't be catered for when different regulations don't correlate on certain areas. The sounds somewhat selfish to me.

Question. If you have a 6 max tournament and a disabled player wants to enter with his helper, so you make it 5 players at the table, what happens if another disabled player wants to play too and he also has a helper? What about a third disabled player?
What if it’s a cash game or a sit n go?
