It is fact that Gambler game up with that nickname. It is a shame that others have tried to steal the credit. When Gambler wins the main event he can go on pokerroad radio and clear this up once and for all.

it's a new and intriguing habit for the Chainsaw, who is actually quite a misunderstood individual and still views the world through a lens of innocence and purity, which comes off as goofy and obnoxious sometimes. Basically, Allen is a gambling genius disguised as nebbish imo, and basically a good guy.

He sent me a message on facebook asking me if i was coming to Bay101. Apparently he is well known there....

It was about a year ago when my friend gnightmoon emailed poker road radio to clear things up about the chainsaw and Gavin admitted on air that he didn't come up with the nickname, but tried to take credit for making it well known. It is indeed true that I coined the nickname chainsaw for Allen. There is no way to prove it concretely, but I do have many respected and honest friends that have little to gain, but will back the truth of the matter. It was just an inside joke for a few years until it became a household name as of late.

Similar to the etymology of float, which many people don't know was originated by 2p2 poster "Nomar" right here on these boards. The cool part of inventing words and nicknames is when it spreads becomes an uncredited part of the lexicon.
