There seems to be fewer and fewer really good female poker cash game players now, even much less than in the past. Who do you guys think are some of the best female cash and tournament players nowadays? Two others that come to my mind are Liv Boeree and Maria Ho. Vanessa Selbst used to be one of the players I really liked but she barely plays anymore.

Kristen Foxen is the only one playing high rollers live and online. Yes she's sponsored and I don't know how +EV she is, but if she's holding her own and studying all day with Alex Foxen I don't know anyone better.

She still plays. I was in a $10 PLO tourney the other day online and she was sat to my left. Name said LivBoeree and was a picture of her. So like it's definitely her because of the avatar picture and name matching. I knocked her out. Was definitely same name though. So its her 1000000%

Liv doesnt play. Maria Ho is terrible, just living on past glories of being one of the few decent young females 15+ years ago.

Probably Kristen Foxen as been mentioned. And there are a few chinese women too.

There are a lot fewer women playing poker today than there were in previous generations. They have steadily been driven out of the game over the course of the last 20-30 years, for several reasons.

At a certain point it just became a vicious cycle, and now a lot of women who might be interested in poker will never engage simply because they would always be confronted with sitting down at a table entirely full of men. And most regs have no interest in doing what needs to be done to welcome women back into poker because it would require them to adjust to a different style of game.

So irrelevant in a world dominated by the online scene and where you can become the world #1 by sitting alone in your basement running sims all day. It's just that women generally have zero interest in doing that, compared to men.

I do indeed believe women have less interest in the form of of poker that has been dominant. That’s one of the big resons for the decline. But how can it be welcoming or encouraging to look into a poker room and see no one at all who resembles you?

I think there are just as many female poker players grinding as before, only they have learned that they do not need to do stupid **** to attract attention. They just need to continue to grind and use people's biases against them.

There’s a lot actually given women make up a minority of poker population. I think women tend to be more successful then men to be honest on average just there is not a lot of women choose to play poker even recreationally let alone professionally.

Men are more lonely and make friends less easily than women. So in turn they more readily engage in anti-social behavior like playing poker by yourself on your computer for 8+ hours a day. It says something about casino poker that you see plenty of women coming to play slots and table games but a far lower percentage playing at the poker tables.

Whether that’s due to some intellectual inferiority on the part of women or lack of competitive drive etc or that’s due to poker’s perceived or actual lack of welcoming to women is up for debate I suppose.
