Really a great final three for growth of the game purposes. You've got a really creative guy from Germany (a country that has never won a ME event before), a guy that didn't start playing until after 30 representing the Czech Republic (also a country that has never won a ME event before), and Mr. Invincible/Player of The Year Himself.

To be fair, someone like O'Dea, Collins, or Holden would have been so likeable that they too would have been pretty good representatives. The nightmare, however, would have been for Gianetti to win. Your stereotypical American jerk with less personality than a cockroach would have been absolutely awful for poker at this point in time.

Perhaps Lamb could trumpet the cause for US legalization in some or fashion, as maybe seeing him win every tournament under the sun could help highlight the "skill" aspect to a greater degree (even if a lot of it wasn't skill). On the other hand, Heinz is wildly exciting and furthers the game in Germany, while Stazsko could break the 20s streak and further the game in the Czech Republic.

So who are you for now that we're down to three, and why?

Heinz played best easily, Lamb was a luckbox and Staszko card dead.

1. Heinz
2. Staszko
3. Lamb

would be best.

But it will be:

1. Heinz
2. Lamb
3. Staszko

Pius ainec! Staszko is cool too. I like old 'internet kids'

This was the first year I liked all the players at the November 9. After Maakievski was out these were my 3 favourites so it's kind of cool. I like Heinz the best and I voted for him but I don't mind if Lamb wins, the story would be way too good that he plays in like 9 WSOP events and does this well.

I like 'em all. Heinz played the best, Benba is the best, and it would be cool to see an adult win the title. Voted Benba just because it's been so long since the most accomplished player at the FT took it down.

Go Heinz go!

I like how he reigned in his aggression just enough to stay in control. A lot of folks expected him to spew chips in an aggro crash and burn. He's now found the right balance.

Lamb was the most consistent throughout the first eight days but I just can't root on a luckbox who repeatedly gets it in bad then sucks out. O'Dea...

Heinz for sure

Say what?

Heinz deserves the win 100% over the other 2 then stazko then Lamb. I'm mad Lamb's even here what a luckbox, he doesn't deserve it at all.

Benba, but I like em all

Somehow Lamb will place first and second, with Heinz and Staszko tieing for 3rd.

To be fair, you're being utterly unfair towards Gianetti. He's done nothing but play solid and conduct himself well on and off of the table.

Im down for Lamb because i have betted 25% of my bankroll on him at 11/2

+1 Gianetti would have been a great and deserving champion. I was gutted when Lamb sucked out huge for the 2nd time.

Yeah I don't get all the Haterade for Giannetti tonight. He's played solid poker, didn't get mouthy even after taking bad beats. He doesn't exactly have a charming personality but wtf?

What I can't figure out is how the hell did that Asian gold digger nail him to the wall. Dude's sick sprung but is he that gullible?

Why did you bold the part about Staszko and then rant about Lamb?
11-07-2011 , 04:03 AM
LAMB PLAYER OF THE YEAR + MAIN EVENT CHAMP ONE TIME!

1. Lamb
2. Heinz
3. Staszko

Can't figure it out? Ok.... I bolded that part because you said you would like to see an adult win it. So Lamb and Heinz are children according to you. Last time I checked 26 and 22 year olds were considered adults. Hell, in America you can be 14(or younger) and sentenced the rest of your life in prison as an adult.

And the rant was me answering the question of the thread.

Considered I took the combo of Giannetti, Lamb and Collins against the table (with Staszko as a push) at even money I am financially obligated to root for Lamb, however after watching his play/luck I don't think he is deserving. Not just referring to the A7 suckout but the 99 river call for 10mil against Heinz and the A9 fold to Staszko's 3bet when he was low 4 handed.

I can't be really disappointed if Heinz or Staszko wins both have played really well all table long.

simple question, what would u do if u face a btn open, u are in the BB with A7s? flat? nitfold? double fist pump snap jam it in? its defintely a +EV 3-bet jam against 90% of btns these days. Ya he sucked out. but he made a profitable (probably optimal option) play in long term. i forgot that 99 hand. u mean that 99 vs QTs hand. heinz had QTs on XXQTJ board. Lamb folded to the 20 million 80% pot bet. also, i think the A9o fold to staszko's 3-bet is fine. staszko wasn't 3-betting a lot in the final table. he nits it up to the 4-handed and started playing a bit more aggressively. A9o is totally crushed by a std 3-bet/calling range (sth like 77+,ATs+,AJo+, it was btn vs BB i think). A9o has only 28-30% against a std get-it-in range. Staszko needs to 3-bet/bluffing a decent % of the time for lamb to 4-bet jam A9o profitably.
