I think I can answer this: if you're a low-stakes player like the OP, you might be better off making that drive to Reno. California rooms like TV charge a flat $4 rake plus another $1 for the jackpot for all pots, regardless of the stakes. At the Peppermill, the $4 is the maximum.
Of course, in a $3-6 LHE game, it all works out the same: every pot will be five or six handed the flop, and few people will fold, so pots will almost always be $40 or more anyway. The rake will be the same $4+1 regardless of which side of the Sierras you're on.
So yeah, in that case, stop off in Lincoln. Plus, the Go-Gos are playing tomorrow.
