Not sure but it seems like he either removed chips after not winning or placed bets (by having chips in his palm) after the ball stopped rolling. Dealer and camera don't see chips in his hand so it's harder to spot.

It's known as Past Posting or Late betting. The idea is that you add an additional chip (or chips) to a bet after the ball has dropped and the bet is won. It takes Magician-level slight of hand skills to do it effectively. Famous casino cheat Richard Marcus evolved it into a team play, using a bettor, (often a pretty, buxom girl,) a distracter, (a person at or near the table to make a fuss, spill a drink etc.) and a placer, ( the slight of hand guy, who places additional chips not on his own bet but on the pretty girl's.) Since a single number bet pays 35 to 1, if you drop one or two $100 dollar chips in a night you have a very lucrative cheat going on.

I am hearing an unconfirmed report that Kassouf was stealing chips from a “ friend” whilst they were both playing roulette and that his sponsorship by Grosvenor Casinos has been suspended pending a full investigation.

If he was topping off he probably wasn't dropping chips on the actual number, because most dealers are pretty fast at dropping the marker on the number, but he was probably adding to the outside bets like red/black, first 12, 2nd 12, row of 6, etc. But if he was palming chips from a "friends" stack, that is just wow, how stupid, and some friend Will is.....

At this stage, it's unclear what he's been accused of specifically, and whether he's admitted or denied it.

So I think we should reserve judgement. Innocent until proven guilty.

For example if he took a £100 chip from a friend's stack and it was not for the purposes of topping an already determined winning bet on roulette or blackjack then maybe it arose out of a financial dispute between him and the other person.

Or if the accusation is of cheating the house then he still deserves the right of reply and/or to put forward his defense or explanation.

Isn't Deeb known for adding chips to his stack mid-hand in cash games? Never caught on tape to my knowledge but word has made its way around in upstate new york
