I wonder whether this will have any impact on his career as a solicitor? This surely breaches the Law Society's Code of Conduct, which insists on things like acting with integrity, upholding the rule of law, behaving in a manner that doesn't undermine public trust, etc.


I wonder if this stuff just covers your conduct in relation to your clients, or if it's more widely applicable. I once knew a trainee solicitor who pretended to be an actual solicitor to police --just one day before he actually qualified (during the course of an arrest) and he was disciplined by the Law Society for it.

Stealing chips in casinos seems like a much more serious offence to me, but all manner of standards have been dropping lately so who knows?
