Several Pokerstars Accounts Hacked. Several Pokerstars Accounts Hacked.

Hackers obtained correct PS username and passwords with no apparent Viruses or Trojans.

Pokerstars advises all users who are concerned about this to request a PIN or SMS Validation for free. More secure would be to request an RSA Security Token for a small fee.

There is a thread in Internet Poker about this:

Unfortunately, someone already made a thread about this, and mods didn't think it was newsworthy enough for NVG, even at the expressed request of the OP to keep it there so more people would be informed.

Thankfully, we have lots of open, unmoved Allen Kessler threads to keep us informed about whats actually going on in the world of poker.

That was me. At the time it fit in IP and got moved there but it has gathered steam and it now seems a good idea it keep it here.

Any volunteers for cliffs?

Link to that post: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...&postcount=322

Scary stuff. lol at expecting the victim to pay back the $1,000.

Yeah, Arcana's working on the cliffs for you lot.

In my view these are the most concerning reports about Stars for a long time (both in terms of the possible explanations and its reaction).

Mine was hacked from a Russian IP, they knew my password first time and stars locked it up straight away. I'm from the UK.

This looks really bad.

I made the thread that was moved out of NVG, Arcana should have a thread with proper cliffs ready in near future.

Think there are already ~15 victims on 2+2 and with a small % of the Stars player pool posting here, not to mention few people hearing about this as it was buried in Internet Poker, there could easily be hundreds of people all hacked in the same way.

Stars still has yet to admit there is any link to all these accounts being hacked even though they are copy/pasting the same email to all the victims.

Thats bad. I cant help but think its a flaw in the new software.. I reported a bug and they never acknowledge I had a problem with the software. They sent me an email template on filters when I explained the games disapeared and reapeared 5-10min later by themselves in the lobby midsession.. The corespondance ended suggesting I can send a screen shot to help them helping me further..

I wish pokerstars take their responsabilities and stop blaming the victims in that hacking affair. That would be a way too serious fail on their part not to do so. Im sending you positive energies guys!

Is someone making an official 2+2 thread with a proper OP for NVG? This is huge news and it seems the way Stars is handling it is extremely troubling both in their lack of effort to prevent the hacks even in the most obvious ways as well as their treating of the victims of the hack.

If Stars wants to allow people to play with a deposit before the deposit actually processes and clears on their end, they should assume 100% of the risk for doing so. The fact that they are asking the victims to pay them back for charge backs done by the hacker is really crazy to me.

Arcana posted a suggestion for a proper OP in the IP thread about 30 mins ago.

Imho it would be important for pokerstars to clarify its position.
You can interpret their mails as: The victim has to pay for the charge back, or his account won't get reopened.
That would be harsh, but - I think - within the law.
But you could also read it as, the victim has to pay, and they might take steps to collect in the future.
I think that's illegal, and as you said crazy.

Stars really dropping the ball. The reps responses in the internet poker forum have been very LOL worthy

Amaya.

Stars was so much better when Isai ran the show
03-17-2015 , 05:53 PM
In b4 Dnegs twitts that hacking was already considered before Amaya took over.
