A yea definately, I am so glad that you have unearthed this great shield that covered my brian before, I am finally thinking about it and it makes sense.

Because a bunch of people working together in the effort to extract millions of dollars while playing high variance style heads-up poker is a simple and obvious scheme.

Do any of you saying this is a form of collaborative effort even understand what that would entail?

The drama and all of the stipulations involved in joint accounting of this magnitude would be soooooo much more -EV than simply having the best person in this "collaboration" play the hands.

Now if Isildur1 has coaches/mentors/etc. available to help him while he plays this is a completely diff matter, but a joint effort, come on.

I personally don't think that computers will be able to compete with humans in deep-stacked NLHE for decades (yes, decades; probably 30-50 years), but this makes no sense. First you trust the "bunch of computer code" with $5 and see how it does. If it does well, you trust it with $10. And then $25, and then $50, and then $100...

Re: What steps will FTP take over Isildur?

all everyone needs to know is who he really is. once it is confirmed that it's blom90 or matronas, gulkines or some other good european pro i'm sure all this "he must be cheating" talk will stop.

so maybe we'll know who he is in a couple of months. at least durrrr and PA will know who they're losing to... or maybe they already do. who knows...

It really wouldn't be hard to write a program to alleviate this problem.
Plus once it's done its obviously impossible to detect how many people are sat around the computer.

Im sceptical to it and i'm sure its all abouve board, but i lol at people who chortle at these things like they're impossible. People have done alot more outlandish things than what is stated here for a lot less money.

Be skeptical but don't be ignorant to the possibilities.

Re: What steps will FTP take over Isildur?

if there was anything over suspicion , it would or is already taking place , im sure it crossed tom and PA 's minds at some point , and their requests would be of high importance . its always when something unusual happens , such as isildur1 making some abnormal profits , that someone goes into thinking its 'unlawful'

OP is just bleh .

unless you could get durrrr to play 5nl with you, then trusting a bot with increasing sums of money is pointless since every stake limit has a different play style and im sure the top pros are capable of multiple levels of thinking and deception.if a bot is sophisticated enough to compete with the world best poker players it would probably be bound under the three laws of robotics and would have to fold the better hand.

Re: Rumour says that...

I don't really think OP deserves the hate he's getting for this thread. Although the railbird one and Ivey giving him $1M is obv ******ed, some of his questions (below) i've def asked myself in desparation when poker has gone roughly for me. I'd bet alot of poker players have thought the same way during a downswing etc.

Why are there so many poker players that once had but now have not?
Why is there a thin line between success and failure?
Why does Isildur1 keep catching cards and grinders never catch a break?
Why is the way up so tough yet the road down is blinding fast?
Why can't 21 outs win more times than not?
Why do gamblers put up a hapyy fasad when they are really hurting inside?
Why do we gamblers only quit when we have no more to lose?

Exactly. On two tables I guess you could, there's no way that it is possible on 6 tables for hours.

You people should go rob a bank or something.
I'm not buying into any conspiracy theory, but for the sake of argument, this is exactly how you might do it, playing smaller limits would mean tons more hands to make the same amount and if you weren't extremely careful to put a governor on yourself, your winrate would be too high over a larger sample size and bust you.
If you do it over a smaller sample size at nosebleed Hu, you can take millions before your results are statistically relevant. Isildir could take another 10 million in the next couple weeks and disappear and he still wouldn't have played nearly enough hands to prove anything.

Also, the longer you take to do it, the more chance you have to get caught as well, if he's in and out with 10 million plus in a couple weeks and gets all the money off the site, hes done. Then if he wants to go for a longer pull using other names at smaller limits he can, but this way hes got 10 mil in an undisclosed account somewhere and if he gets caught doing the other stuff he still had a good pull.

All that being said, Ill go with Occam's razor, which would be, hes one guy, who's a very good player that also happens to be running way above EV at the same time.

Also hes a tool for calling himself Isildur, keyser Soze would have been cooler
