Somehow I doubt he's very sanguine about losing about $5.5 million since the peak of his upswing earlier this year.

He happens to have the talent to win in excess of 5 million dollars multiple times, in days, nobody else has achieved that feat in online poker.

'The best job in the world' that maybe slightly applicable if he was printing money, if you know anything about poker you would know that poker is not a carefree job. Ever.

Even if you're Patrick Antonius, the specter of variance is always around the corner, it never leaves you.

Poker as an occupation is never easy, even Isildur's testimony on hsdb will tell you that. When you lose you can't sleep properly the doubt seeps in to your conscience and it takes an unyielding mind to continue striving to be the best. Every poker player who experiences a downturn has to decide whether they are fighting variance or they are ultimately a degenerate.

Mentally I can't think of many harder occupations to pursue.

I'm not a fan of Isildur or a fan of any highstakes professionals but I do respect all of the high stakes players because they have the ability, or at least the conviction to play at these incomprehensible stakes.
