I believe it will. You think it won't, that's fine -- neither of us knows the answer with any certainty. Nor does Stars, which is why they're running the trial on a small market first: exactly the prudence with which a company should test a plausible but unproven game-change meant to address an important problem before rolling it out elsewhere. Good for Stars.

Great change by Pokerstars, long overdue. Makes it much fairer for everyone.

And no matter how many pros complain or argue against it, this is here to stay. Amaya don't go back on their word.

Re: Seat me: RIP game selection on Stars

For HUSNG they say “it will be a major milestone against seating scripts and the groups of players that prevent these games being played on an even footing”.

Ironically, HUSNG is just about the only game left where regs deliberately target each other to move up the divisions. That has to be incredibly valuable for Pokerstars as typically the only thing that happens is that two winning players give tonnes of rake to Pokerstars (their dream scenario).
So it *is* an even footing, you just have to prove yourself over a couple of months. Sure that's bad for regs not wanting to put in the time commitment but it's definitely fair. There's no reg playing $60s+ that hasn't proven themselves over 5000+ tournaments.

So what will happen...assuming people don't try and get around the issue (and they probably won't tbh). HUSNGs volume will just collapse. Regs won't play regs anymore because it's not worth anything.

In before baseless cartel comments.

It all depends on implementation details. If you aren't allowed to sit in new games for 15/30/60 mins after quitting a new game, people will stick out the new games.

If it's a chained must move system, you can't get to the fish on tables 2 and 3 without sticking out the first must move.

Online isn't live, multitabling presents challenges that single tabling doesn't to must move systems. How they deal with these challenges in whatever system they are implementing Is key.

Correct. PokerStars make a killing because of divisions. The reason so many regs are willing to fight and pay that much rake is because they believe membership in a division is worth something.

It also seems unfair to compare the .ES and .COM markets. Do they have divisions? Are regulars battling each other? If it's a jungle at .ES, you will observe no difference in the economy. On .COM, the incentive to play regs would disappear and you would observe more bumhunting.

Everyone who is banned from joining a new table for the next 30 minutes will be one less bum hunter for that amount of time.

Well this is false, are you literally just complaining that you're a bumhunter but one without a script? Starting tables, playing 3 handed with regs, these are all good ways to get on decent tables when they start.

As for your last sentence, as someone who doesn't script I can tell you now, these changes are going to be really really bad for everyone (including non script users). Recs are not going to really benefit from this and if they do it's a benefit that the majority of them will not even care about, the only winner in these changes is stars and even that may be an extremely short term win.

Re: Seat me: RIP game selection on Stars

bumhunting will always exist in one form or another
i think this is a really poor move on amaya's part and we'll see an even bigger drop in the playerpool

for players who like this seat-me stuff, and want random tables and fast play etc. there is zoom right?
why not keep zoom that way for these players and leave the normal tables normal for those players

edit; and agree 100% with ponty ^

Wtf are you talking about? Are we playing on the same Microgaming Network? It's 100% impossible to get a seat at MSNL/HSNL without a script

Complicating matters, sometimes regs like to play HU, so other regs keep spawning over and over again to the table where they're trying to play, making it go three handed for an orbit, screwing up the position of the BB, etc. The whole thing is a bit of a mess.

Some fish also get sick of spawning to tables full of regs and you can see their frustration as they leave and spawn again and leave and spawn again and then sometimes they just quit because it's so hard/impossible to get onto a table where cards are actually being dealt.
What site are you talking about?

Trying it out on Pokerstars.es seems clueluess due to a much smaller (and I guess much, much softer?) playerpool. It kinda works okayish on Unibet, but only because the Reg:Rec ratio is much better than on Stars. There are sometimes 20+ people monitoring a table on PS alone at MSNL. This is completely designed to fail.

eventually stars will have one big button 'play poker' on load, the ecosystem will decide what format / stake you play based on your balance and dnegs recomendations

Re: Seat me: RIP game selection on Stars

Will be interesting to see how it impacts HS HUSNGs.

Will also be interesting to see how casuals respond. Many casuals I have known deliberately avoid certain regs, and currently you can see those regs sitting first in the HUSNG lobby. You can't do that with blind lobbies, and if a certain reg plays a certain non reg and they finish games at the same time, they are more likely to be sat again.

Agreed about .ES too, it's not representative (at least in HUSNGs) of the .com playerbase, particularly the dynamics of regular players.

Amaya making everything into a stupid gimmick ... and please tell me this won't be for limit games there's no player pool as it is.
