To cut a long story short, this post is no joke. Thanks to the OP for bringing the attention to the masses.
your winnings and your pocket are one and the same, but i can understand it stung a bit less because you otherwise had a good night. obviously he scammed you otherwise he wouldn't be pestering you with phone calls.

I've known Jimmy for a long time...not super friendly just acquaintances. Played with him a bunch over the years. I do see him and his degen wife around. Everytime he sees me he asks to borrow 500 I tell him no every time. I have another friend that was talking about him borrowing g's from him...bottom line I will never ever let a degen borrow money. Chances are very high you will not see it. I'm a degen myself and have borrowed but I always pay back on time. Guess I'm the exception. But I had a dude back me 20k too play some bj for him because hes seen my run ups..he was a degen to the max. Won him a bunch he ran it up from there then dusted like 80k called me up crying asking for 20k. I told him to f off. Claiming he was gonna pay me back 20k from whatever...instead of going down the route I gave him 5k with no payback as compensation for backing me. Till this day he upset.

I didn't see him in the final 9, how did he end up doing? Did anyone get paid back?

According to the WSOP website he finished in 17th place for $37,326.

No idea if anyone got paid back but most serial scammers don't pay even if they have a decent score. If people hear that you paid back others they get even more upset with you.

It's too funny he used that photoshop pic. I can't believe he really did that. I don't want to believe it.

Back in 2005-2007 I used to play a ton of live NL at Bellagio all the way down to 10-20NL if nothing was bigger - I probably busted this guy 50x or so over 3 months. Great times.

I keep going back to that every time I re-visit this thread. It's quite possibly the best part of this saga.

You know those movies that you see many times yet there are things you don't notice until, say, the 10th watch? That photo is sort of like it. In this case, I never really noticed the date and time stamp before.

Yes, I know that many cameras have a feature in which the date and time is automatically added to the image. But I've ever seen one where the stamp looks like that (with the word "at," no less). That would likely require a third-party app or some kind of image software.

I'll chalk it up as the 43rd example of the photo being manipulated. Really is the gift that keeps on giving.

The question should be, is that the biggest toolbox ever?

(For newer members, that's an NVG blast from the past)

I just realized that thread started almost exactly 15 years ago. Makes you feel very old.

Yeah, time has flown by in terms of poker because so many of us got into the game maybe 20 years ago at the most. For someone like me, 15 years represents a high percentage of my awareness of poker. On the other hand, I've been (say) a baseball fan for almost my entire life. As a result, the 2011 World Series (St. Louis over Texas) seems much more recent to me than the 2011 WSOP Main Event (Pius Heinz over Martin Staszko).

But indeed, when I was shooting the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond tourney, I remember seeing Doug Lee and going, "hey, it's the biggest toolbox guy!" That was December 2010. The thread was alive and kicking.

bumping to add this.

Recently Jimmy got a few more people in Vegas for loans. He also asked multiple plo players in Vegas for loans in the last few weeks who fortunately told him no.

2 weeks or so he cashed for 27k in some Wynn tournament. Naturally he didn't pay anyone back anything.
The day after this cash a guy who final tabled the same event was screaming at Jimmy in the poker room saying at the final table they agreed to swap 5 percent. This guy cashed for about 9k so he said Jimmy owed him about 900 dollars (5 percent of the 18k difference.) I've never seen this guy in my life but I 100 percent believe him.
