This man will lurk around the gambling establishment when there is a poker tournament around. He will tell you his money is “tied” up and proceed to show you his past winnings on Hendon Mob. He will try to get a stake from you or a loan. Do not do it! He is a scammer and has done this to all my poker friends. He will make up lies with a photoshopped picture of his dead mom (so heartless). His wife is a degenerate slot gambler and he begs for money to feed her addiction, along with his. He owes everyone money but tells everyone 1,000 excuses and we would all see him playing the next tournament with no shame! He’s an embarrassment & I hope the poker world will find out about this man! Don’t give him money!

Maybe he's a scammer or maybe he's not. An accusation like that from an anonymous source with no history on this site is dubious at best.

I'm so glad there are four screen captures on that post. If there were only two or three, I would have serious doubts about the OP. But four?? RELEASE THE HOUNDS.

Spoiler:
But seriously, what George Rice said. If this man really is an Asian Mike Borovetz, we will hear more accounts from people corroborating the accusations. Until then, I've taken the OP with a serious grain of MSG.

I've played with him probably 25 times or so over the years and he's never asked me for money but I don't live in Vegas and I doubt he knows my name.
A friend of mine who lives in Vegas lent him 2k(maybe 2500) about a year ago and hasn't gotten a dollar back.

Pretty funny to me that there are people who will still lend money to a random person they just met in a casino and expect any other result...

Did your friend know him from before? Or was Tran a stranger coming up to him with a sob story? Sucks either way, obviously, but this is now the first response (albeit second-hand) to back up the OP's claim. Interesting.

Not for nothing, I wish I was in the financial position to lend $2K to a stranger like that. Even the Borovetz M.O. of asking for a few hundred felt like a bold move, Cotton moment. Clearly I'm a nit.

They had played each other a bunch in the last year or two before he lent it.

I am in the financial position to do it but I'll never do it. I've never lent or borrowed money at the poker table. But some people learn the hard way.

Outing scammers on 2+2 is a somewhat problematic affair:

(1) On the one hand 2+2 welcomes "outing" scammers as a Public Service Announcement

(2) On the other hand 2+2 does not allow unsubstantiated claims of scamming.

I will alert the 2+2 higher-ups to this thread and they will probably weigh in at some point.

I wouldn't call this hard evidence, but it seems to substantiate the OP's claim:

Not sure what 2+2's threshold is, but if I had to bet I'd take the 'he's a scammer' side....

Always tough call for mods when OP is a “Posts: 1”, plus as others said, what’s with posting four headshots, looks more like a man-crush gone bad by a jilted OP lol.

To be fair I have zero proof and im not even claiming he scammed me so I'd understand if I didn't meet their threshold.

If you're accusing someone using their real name and picture you should at least provide some form of proof and/or put your real name behind those claims.

The main reason why this thread stays up for now is that a reputable poster says he heard from a friend that the guy stole from him. But we need a little more to keep it this way.
