From San Diego two card rooms have been recently raided. In San Diego the non-casino poker rooms are Village Club, Palomar, Lucky Lady, and Oceans 11.
The raids occurred in the last few hours. Not sure of details.
10 News (San Diego) live report, North Park - Palomar Card Club and a house in La Jolla, search warrants served by the FBI and SDSO. They did say there was "several simultaneous raids" conducted at the same time in other parts of the county. Nobody will confirm if it's related. (News at 11 teaser alert)
i wonder what they could have gotten raided for? thats wild
I havent played in those rooms in a while but they used to be very "loose" with cash long after the bike and commerce stopped allowing it at the table.

This is definitely not the issue. No cash played for at least 2 years that I have played more or less full time.

I'm pretty sure you were never allowed to play cash on table in the 3 main SD cardrooms. You are probably thinking Oceans 11.
I work at oceans 11, just got off. There are hosting the WPT all week. Oceans 11 didn't get raided The Village Club was raided. the cops and D.O.J about 30 officers walked in told the dealers to finish the hand not to deal another then asked all the players for there I.D.s and had everybody cash out one at a time and leave I was told a house in San Diego is rated today by the D.O.J
This doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the card rooms but with some private person that was playing at said cardrooms. If a bad guy washes money at a poker club they would want to know about it, don't you think?
The WPT in town is merely a coincidence (albeit a bad one for them lol.)
Several federal search warrants were served at locations throughout San Diego County on Wednesday morning.
FBI agents were tight-lipped on the reason for serving the search warrants, emphasizing that no arrests have been made.
Warrants were served at a home in the 6400 block of La Jolla Scenic Drive South, where a man answered the door and said he was baffled by the FBI raid.
The man, who’s not the homeowner, declined to comment on what agents were investigating.
The Village Club Card Room in the 400 block of Broadway in Chula Vista also was served, as was the Palomar Casino in North Park. Attempts to reach the Village Club were unsuccessful.
The manager of the Palomar Casino declined comment, but added that he planned to issue a statement soon.
FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth declined to reveal how many warrants were served, but said they were in support of an ongoing criminal investigation.
