Your Welcome Grind.

Looks like we were on the same schedule.

Best of luck to anyone who has issues with these scumbags.

I've been stone walled for months.

If you're going to make a statement like that (re: hole cards at the WSOP), why not provide some sort of proof instead of throwing darts.

what a disgrace. raking every pot and having blackjack on a poker site isn't enough, he also has to steal from high stakes regs. if Russ does no jail time there's no justice in this world.

You should be wrapped tight in that blanket and someone fart in your mouth for making stupid statements like that.

I really hate that this is coming down like this. Doesn't this just give the conservatives more ammo?

You'd feel different, i think, if it was your money that was stolen.

Barry didn't really stand up for Russ. Barry just said Russ's side of the story since Russ's lawyer's wouldn't let Russ go on Pokerroad and explain his side of the case.

But now that this has come out do we really know if Russ's lawyer's told him to not go on the show?

I wonder too. I wonder if he colluded to win the main event. I wonder if he cheated in cash games. I wonder if he was involved with Scott Tom.

Everything he's ever done is certainly in question.

He didn't found the WSOP or anything. He just played. Although your question of Scott could make Vegas interesting next couple days.

Weird timing that it is released on Day 1 of the Aruba Classic...hope the prize pools down there aren't seized or anything.

There is an MSNBC article here that talks about UB getting sued for $75mil, but says that not all of that was stolen from players.

edit: link mentions that 2+2 members broke the story as well

I think the KGC is disreputable and you can in fact use Caro's strong means weak in this situation. Russ Hamilton is an obvious suspect, he's burned a few bridges, and the stuff is connected to his affiliate program. But if KGC says it is, then it must not be true.

My gut tells me he is not the mastermind in this. It is possible of course he was somehow involved, but I just believe he is the one they are choosing to throw under a bus.

My 2 cents.

The $60m figure was not from the KGC, it came from another news site's story. The $75m cited in the MSNBC story was in reference to the software company, and was filed by Blast Off, who has ownership in UB.

I was thinking the same thing, but you said it better. It looks like they ran with what was posted here, and decided to ignore Scott Tom et al.

It would be rather interesting to hear Barry's response to this, and/or his thoughts.

BS. Barry blamed everything about Russ on "2+2 kids"

Barry was probably paid a good fee from Russ to try and help cover his ass.

Has Barry even posted here since he has Russ on the show?

In an e-mail interview with msnbc.com, Greenstein said he believes it is likely that the KGC’s investigation will confirm that the crime was carried out by an employee or employees of the former ownership of the site — whether it be ieLogic, Excapsa or eWorld Holdings —not the professional poker players who lent their expertise to the site’s developers.

‘A bunch of kids ... who jump to conclusions’
“There is no evidence to the contrary, except for some circumstantial evidence against (him) and a bunch of kids on Two Plus Two who jump to conclusions every time they are given a name,” he said. “… I'm not saying these people (the poker pros) are clean. I don't know for sure. But just because someone's name is associated with a company where there was cheating, it doesn't mean that the person was involved.”
Who is the pro that Greenstein is mentioning in the MSNBC article? (Russ is the one?) With the account Sleepless?

And furthermore, the question most begged is how only him? Whether $60m is correct or not, the total amount was a f#$#$%# lot.

Is it really possible for one person to cash this money out and not have other people in on it? Let's face it, these costa rican operations are always run by clever mafia types. Do you think they are going to let a huge piece of the pie just disappear on their watch?

No chance it is one person acting alone.

What are the chances with 60 minutes and so on that we actually manage to kill these sites off?

Agreed, but I also wonder where that 1.5M is going? Hopefully KGC doesn't just plan to keep it.

Knowing the KGC, they probably took a $500k bribe and publicized 1.5 mil thinking it was substantial enough.
