Lol, that part is definitely a lie. No member of the Danish royal family is ever going to take part in anything that has to do with gambling—100% sure.

Re: Royal Poker Challenge ($50million 1st prize)

It is a copy and paste from PR Web with some added conjecture.

http://www.prweb.com/releases/2014/01/prweb11472526.htm
Royal Poker Challenge Presents The Highest Stakes Poker Tournament in History with Net Winnings of USD50 Million Dollars
On March 30th, 2014, Royal Poker Challenge will host the world’s largest poker tournament in history with a winner takes all prize of USD 50 million dollars. Participation requires a USD 1 million dollar buy in.

(PRWEB) January 12, 2014

On March 30th, 2014, Royal Poker Challenge will host an international high stakes poker tournament at The Star Hotel and Casino http://www.star.com.au in Sydney. The winner will receive the world’s largest poker tournament prize, a 50 million dollar USD check. Participating in this event requires a USD 1 million dollar buy in.

48 players have already enrolled. Members of the British, Danish, and Monaco royal family have been selected as ambassadors, along with several African and Asian monarch members. As tournament ambassadors, these ‘royal poker players’ receive substantial appearance fees that will be donated to their selected charities. If any of these ambassadors proceed to win the tournament, their winnings will also be donated to their designated charities.
Poker is one of the most popular games in the world, online as well as in traditional casinos. Apart from the millions of amateur players, there is a growing band of elite professionals gambling in high stakes tournaments around the world.
Director of Royal Poker Challenge, Dave Chen, says, “Poker is a true game that cuts across all class and income barriers. It tests skills, nerves and courage in a way that’s incomparable to other card games. There is no higher drama and examination of character and personality than a high stakes poker game. With the splashing 50 million dollar prize, in the remarkable city of Sydney, this should be an historical event indeed.”

Mr. Chen is coy when selecting participants. Many of the already enrolled players are wealthy and successful individuals as well as professional poker players from Europe, America and Asia. Among the participants are high profile Hollywood celebrities (whose names cannot be shared). All participants value privacy, so Mr. Chen is primarily focused on providing a secure and private environment for this unique tournament.

Re: Royal Poker Challenge ($50million 1st prize)

doctors kill people. seriously, read up on iatrogenics. theyre good for emergency surgery etc tho.

also, why hate on the royals? maybe they give good PR/bad PR for the country which might pay off. without them i think england has v little going for the imagewise. except the bad teeth image. which isnt the best.

No it doesn't. They pay for themselves because of tourism.

They cost $51 million a year, but the royal wedding brought tourism for $165 million alone.

Not that I like having a family born into eternal privilege, but you don't pay for them.

Doctors caN be useful in times of sore body parts, firepolice in times of burny places..

Royals bring in millions (allegedly) but spend millions on there fancy jet service and fancy cars and fancy bank balances and fancy cakes and fancy everything..

You are right England is a stinky stinky place with lots of bad teeth though, i live in the home of King Willy wallace and we have teeth like and we have images of tartan skirts with nice blue faces and brave hearts

Re: Royal Poker Challenge ($50million 1st prize)

I didn't read all of it but it says min/max runners for this to happen is 50/100, all buying in for a cool million.

And then it says it is Winner Takes All for $50million.

Does that mean even if they fill out with 100 players they are freerolling if they get 51> entrants?

Re: Royal Poker Challenge ($50million 1st prize)

pretty crazy event if true. sort of hard to believe though.

I cant think of any other event in history of poker that would attract as much attention and mainstream / worldwide media.

meh cant be true. would be sickest money bubble of all time cuz royal family doesn't chop.

couple helpful suggestions for organizers though just in case this isn't a Tong G promotional hoax for his new website

1) no Asian eating utensils near tip box (that's gonna be a pretty big tip box)

2) please confirm structure with chainsaw, in advance

3) go ahead and deposit 1st place money at Deutsche Bank in Munich as chance of German NOT winning this is about nil.

4) let Timex know in advance its not polite to stare at Royals

oh also could anyone that speaks the other English please translate the following I think he doesn't like some family that he knows but cant tell cause I only speak English, I mean the other English

Re: Royal Poker Challenge ($50million 1st prize)

The structure makes no sense.

Its a shootout with a final table consisting of everyone who wins in the first round. Yet, the rules also provide that they will keep balanced tables during the first round. I've never heard of a shootout with re-balancing tables.

Also, the rules discuss hand-for-hand on the bubble, despite the fact that its winner take all and shoot-out structure.

Finally, the rules state that there will be between 50-100 players, but regardless of the number of players, the prize will always be $50 million to the winner. Seems like a great deal for the house if they can get more than 50 players.

My guess is that someone just copied and pasted these rules from other tournaments but didn't actually have any knowledge of how tournaments work.

Hmmm, what's the angle?

Do these folks really think they are gonna scam someone out of $1M by posting some BS on a Website?
