Eurorounders and "Grandma" make this thread a win. Good effort on the hand analysis OP, and if 90% of the flamings you get are of the "yeah i figured out how bad the poker scenes were years ago" variety, then you most not have done too badly.

Whatever technical flaws Rounders may have, without that movie I don't think the Moneymaker boom ever even happens. Contrast that with Casino Royale, which basically said, "Hey, our market research tells us that this Texas Hold Them seems to be pretty popular these days. What if we rewrite Flemming's original story to include it? Maybe we can jump on the bandwagon and capitalize on it!"

I think that the first hand in the movie was a lot better played/scripted overall. With the exception of the lolbad flat TeddyKGB made to the 2k raise pre with aces.

The omahahaha hand with the cigar discussion was hysterical.

And Gretchen Mol looks hot in the movie. Which makes up for a lot of bad decisions at the tables.

Best to watch this movie with the commentary on. PH, Johhny Chan, Chris Ferguson and Chris moneymaker..... the last lines from them is Chris Moneymaker saying how easy it is to win the WSOP ME!! rofl
