You believe that someone who was paying someone to make sports bet for him, can then sue the establishment that took the bets, because the establishment should know more about the person placing the bet, than the person paying the person to make the bet for him?

Casinos have been successfully sued if they took action from people they knew were likely using ill-gotten gains.

Which doesn't apply to this at all. The funds were legitimate funds placed through an agent. The portion of the funds that were stolen to pay for an extravagant lifestyle are not recoverable from Aria.

I thought they were illegitimate funds.

It is still hard and very rare to recover money from a casino. Just like they can technically be liable if someone is too drunk to gamble and they let them do it.

Ouch. With his swindling skills this guy could've been the Bernie Madoff of the gambling world. Instead he chooses to stoke his ego, runs his mouth in the press, outs his clients and alerts the law enforcement by confessing to federal crimes.

Must be a real charmer if he was able to scam so much money while also being so dumb. Could've been the perfect "charisma" coach for Jungleman. Maybe they'll Skype while he's in prison?

The real prison sentence begins when he gets out. Having to work a 9-5 job that probably pays ~min wage then having to give most of it away to pay the irs/investor. Knowing he’ll never get out of debt for the rest of his life. I bet he turns to some form of fraud again
