RIP Brandi RIP Brandi

"You all had wanted to see a trainwreck and that's what you got. Or to be more accurate, that's what you caused. I think it's easy for you to stare out at someone from the outside and have your opinions, to hide behind your computer screen and make judgements about someone's life. I've never understood it, but I don't hold grudges. I know that my actions and the way I conducted myself at the time brought a lot of it on myself. "

Who are you to talk about this situation Steely since you obviously know nothing about it. GTFO of this thread.

How sad to come home and read this.

No matter who you are, no matter how challenging the circumstance, suicide is not the answer.

The only constant in life is change. As they say, it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

This is v sad stuff.

I never got to meet Brandi, but I know a few of her friends and feel horrible for what they must be going through right now.

Maybe its over the top but people are painting a picture of brandi being an angel that we all forced into doing the things she did, which is of course bull****.
04-18-2008 , 01:44 AM
It's too bad she didn't get the help she so obviously needed.

Hey everyone. Lets show a little more sensitivity in this situation and try to avoid inappropriate language and tone.
Thanks.

I really scowl at the thought of people mourning a dead woman strictly b/c she was hot. Now, that's hardly true of everyone mourning Brandi, but it's definitely true of some of you. What needs to be recognized is that for a woman like her, beauty's just a curse - her only weapon against herself, others, and all the **** going on in her head, and ultimately, her primary path of self-destruction. All the attention she got for having a sick rack and being willing to flaunt it, undoubtedly contributed to the spiral.
I agree - if Brandi had been a completely different person, both physically and mentally, her life may have indeed had a different trajectory. Solid stuff as always.

The egos on 2+2 have really soared out of control if people really believe someone would make life and death decisions based on what is written about her here. There were many other issues in Brandi's sad life for sure, almost none of which had anything to do with the numerous Brandi/trainwreck threads. Were they stupid, immature, and insulting? Sure. But a lot more goes through a suicidal person's head.

I feel bad for the poor girl and anyone close to her. What was really going on in her life and in her head will only be open to speculation, but if people really feel bad about it, maybe now is the time to grow up and drop it.

The interesting thing about 2+2 when you compare it to other non-poker boards is that a lot of people who post here actually have some sort of relationship in real life as well. So when you consider Brandon, or David's (and others) posts on 2+2 and how they made some personal issues very well-known to a tight-knit circle of people (serious poker players, there aren't that many,) it could very well have had some effect. Things from these boards do often carry over to affect real life things.

If Brandi was affected at all, I don't think any of us are qualified to decide whether it was major issue or a very minor one .

However, the bulk of the Brandi threads here consisted of contributions from people who thought this was their opportunity to try out their obscene phone call material in writing. As if she did something to them personally.

Brandi's misdeeds shouldn't be glossed over, but suicide or no suicide, some NVG posters have lot to apologize for.

Very sad. Life is so very short but can be very wonderful if we make everything of it. I hope those of you who harassed Brandi nonstop feel something now. She was a real person despite her flaws.

Obviously, my condolences to Brandi's friends and family. It must be absolutely horrible to lose a daughter/friend in the prime of her life.

I will admit that I am guilty of a few "blue" photoshops of Brandi - but at the time it was all in good fun - simply a juvenile roast of a quasi celebrity.

Since Brandi was such a huge 2+2 dramatist and most definitely had the largest audience, I don't feel it's that insensitive to inquire more specifically about her death. With her "reputable" friends confirming the story, can we now ask "why" is she dead? Who saw her last? Was she depressed in her final days? Did she leave a note or reason? Did she give a final call out for help? Could it be foul play?

Like 99% of the other posters on this site, I never knew her, but I followed her drama with a guilty pleasure. So, now in death, I follow her drama with even more intrigue. I'm sure in the coming days the circumstance surrounding her death will hopefully emerge - but if anyone could shed a little light now... is that too much to ask?

This is all too sad. I wish things for her would not have turned out this way. I never knew her or anyone else who did, but I feel sad none the less.

I really don't see how that's a valid / relevant criticism of anything I'm saying, but I do see your previous sucking-on-vibrator pic post with the caption 'Amazing - RIP' so you're pretty much precisely my audience, which I guess prompts you to say anything at all in self-defense, or something, even if it makes absolutely no sense at all.

It is a tragedy. But it is not a sudden tragedy at the time we learned of her death; her life was the tragedy. It was a predictable outcome albeit sad.
04-18-2008 , 02:29 AM
I have to admit I got some sort of sick pleasure from watching the whole Brandi trainwreck saga unfold...but this is very tragic.

I won't say I didn't see it coming.

Don't forget that anyone who commits sucide is terminally ill. No cancer there but the ability to live on has vanished. Beyond salvation from any advice or criticism one might have given. So the badmouthing sensation junkies nor her best friends could have contributed or prevented any of this.
04-18-2008 , 02:53 AM
This is very sad.

I can't help but feel that the nonsense written about her on here was partially responsible for this...........

RIP
