Also, I dont think most people realize the sites stance on bots. I honestly considered myself as a valued customer of fulltilt. Ipoker take an open stance to bots, even if they dont say it publicly.
Im not too worried about fulltilt anyway, Ill take a cool off period and should be up and running again in a couple of weeks. I already have several bots running on ipoker skins everyday, so its not like I wont have money coming in.
First off for qualification I have a BA in computer science...
1) I don't think a single person has disagreed with you saying making a profitable poker bot takes lots of
hard work, set backs, and poker knowledge . In fact I am pretty sure that we can all agree that in order to make such a bot would require a fair amount of
skill and time.
Ok agreed, you have a skill that can make money illegitimately and have put in the time needed to profit from that skill.
2) I think almost every single person disagrees on how you view
2A - the
"sites' stance on bots" . I am pretty sure all online poker sites prohibit the use of automated decision making software of any kind, even as simple as auto folders. I haven't read every single TOS out there but I would pretty hard pressed to believe what you say that Ipoker has an
open stance and welcomes bots.
In fact if you really want to shock me have a 2+2 moderator inform Ipoker representatives of your IP and your admitted bots. Then have an Ipoker rep post here defending your view and confirm their "open stance" on bots, and defend how much they
value you as a customer.
2B - the players stance on bots. As has been stated many times previously most players do not want to play against bots and prefer to play against other humans. Humans who are susceptible to the same weaknesses they themselves are such as being tired, distracted or hungry. While some players might not mind playing against bots, especially ones that are not that strong, they certainly have the "right" to know what their opponent is, human or computer.
The players signed up and registered for a site where they were under the impression they would be playing other humans as per what they agreed to in the terms of service. If they agree that they will not use automated decision making programs, they should rightfully assume that no other players be permitted automated decision making.
3) If any site changed their stance on bots and made it open knowledge to the players that bots were allowed, only then would your view be valid. Stop assuming just because your generating a lot of rake that sites encourage your botting and value you as a customer. If anything I would think the sites now see you as anything but a valued customer for the publicity you have now created about the exploits that can / do occur on their software.
