I don't understand the banking system in this... If it's so illegal for the banks to take a wire/check from stars/ftp, then shouldn't the banks also not allow us to wire money into an illegal account/poker site....

Seems like the US banks are like "We'll let you put your money into this illegal account, but can't take it back because the account is illegal". Shouldn't the gov't also sieze all funds from every single bank account ever that deposited to stars/ftp. Would love to see the outrage of US banks/US citizens.

So are they major shareholders on AP-Stars-FTP, or am I seeing that all wrong?
Chad Elie is a businessman in Las Vegas. Looks like he's involved in payment processing.

I certainly feel bad for everyone that plays at these sites that are from the U.S. I feel that your money will be tied up for months at the minimum. Per the indictment, looks like the government is trying to get their hands on all the money that theses sites have on deposit.

This all started with the UIEGA law passed back in 2006. We can all complain about it, how stupid the law is, how we should change our laws, etc.... But, at the end of the day those sites were breaking the law that was passed, and playing on sites that are breaking U.S. laws has some risk to it. It's been 5 years since that law was passed and frankly I'm surprised it took this long for the DOJ to do anything.

Too early to tell how this will affect these sites outside the U.S. Frankly, if I lived outside of the U.S. and I had money there I'd pull it ASAP. It's not worth the risk. Too many other legal poker sites that can be played on that the U.S. won't go after.

Withdrew and got confirmation from PS. FT would only let me chargeback to an expired CC.

But withdrawing on the site isn't the problem. It's if you get the cheque/wire transfer, and if it's legit.
