LOL at everyone blaming the government. You broke the law, they broke the law. You were lucky to enjoy 5 good years of tax free winnings and if you were smart you cashed out on a regular basis and didn't keep a huge amount with the site. Just because you feel it is your right to play online poker doesn't make it so. I feel it's right to pay a hooker so suck my dick but with the exception of Nevada it's not. I feel it's my right to smoke a joint but with the exception of CA it's not. Instead of lobbying congress you kept breaking the law. You had the biggest red flag last November when FTP couldn't get their money from banks when you deposited and when PS stopped using echecks for many Americans so there is no excuse. Now, get on the phone to Harry Reid and John Boehner and start pushing them. By spring of next year you can have a bill in place and we can play safely and with a real regulated system. To sit here and play the victim won't get you anywhere.

For US players, it's the payment processing that is being called fraud so why put my $$ in the hands of the processors. If the processors go down, but not PS on IOM then my $$$ is still safe and I can do a p2p transfer later. If PS goes down also, then I was screwed from the start.

BUT if I had $$ on UB or absolute, then I'd def try to get it out.

This. He made the decision to stop defending the gay marriage law. The real truth is neither major party cares at all about online poker.

Don't get me wrong, he shares the blame, but he is not the one who is ultimately responsible for this fascistic power grab.

Whatever happened to freedom and personal responsibility? Oh, that's right, those are just buzzwords we use to make ourselves feel good.
You're quite right. George Bush is still President & Eric Holder works for HIM. Just who do you think is in charge of the DOJ, Hilliary Clinton, maybe???? You had better back to Government classes, so you can learn a thing or two about government functions.

Cliffs for people who still don't understand what happened:

-DOJ steals Stars and FTP's money.

-Stars/FTP make deals with some banks to hide transactions so the DOJ can't steal their money.

-DOJ accuses Stars/FTP of fraud and money laundering.

-Land of the free
They weren't FORCED into it at all. They chose to carry on trading in a jurisdication that was gunning for them. That's their decision - they didn't have to do it - other companies just left the jurisdiction.

I didn't say the government is blameless - quite the opposite, obviously the regulatory situtation is/was ridiculous. But it's not as if FT/PS are blameless for their customers problems either - they obviously felt they were prepared to run the risk of this situation occurring for the profits in the US market. And to out the guy who knows where the bodies are buried to the Feds is just moronic.

meh, whatever presidential administration is currently there sets the priorities on what gets cracked down on. Obama knows how popular poker, and online poker, is in America.

(I'm not a Republican, so don't flame me on that account.)

Yeah. All of this talk about unemployment rate in the US. 60,000 online pros are now out of work thanks to this.

Downloaded the UK version of FULL TILT...

Full Tilt did release a statement....I didn't know how to copy it, but basically it states:

1. USA players are currently restricted from cash games and FTP games.
2. USA players are currently restricted from using the cashier.
3. Our money is safe.

I left my money on yesterday, rather than having it floating in cyberspace to some processor where the money may be confiscated....
