Don't look now, but there are a couple of 0.1/0.2 BTC (~$370/$740) NLH games going on on Nitrogen poker.

Any ideas on who these players are?

Note: The stacks are in milli-BTC which are about $3.7 per mBTC.

Nitrogen not the easiest site to get HHs off of.

Unfortunately I didn't think of trying to copy some hands.

Cliffs Notes:

Shadow Elite ran super pure in all ins, winning a number of them with 1 overcard vs a PP.

Satoshi seemed to have limitless pockets until finally appearing to be all in after losing about 80 BTC (~$300k). Shadow Elite got about 61 of it.

"limitless pockets...~$300k" isn't that only a bit more than 4 buy-ins?

Is Nitrogen a trustworthy btc site for US players?

Chavvot.

Although they were paying 2.5 mBTC (~$9) per flop in rake.

yes they are a pretty decent size sportsbook with a good reputation, and withdrawing is nearly instant. software is decent but not freindly to multitabling. very low traffic and only cash games though. decent site to keep up on the side.

Yeah, their poker client leaves a bit to be desired. Would really like a waiting list. Low volume of players so definitely need to be willing to play 3-4 handed games. Tournaments only run for the guaranteed events, although they do generally have overlays. Decent freeroll tournaments, too. SNGs are non-existent.

+1 they pay out less than 1 BTC within minutes and multiple BTC payouts took less than 12 hrs (even on busy night like Mayweather/Macgregor).

Rake is pretty high I've been told, but games were fun and soft.

These guys might have set up the match here so that 1) nobody else would join 2) they could keep their BTC (which has now gone up a couple hundo since the OP), instead of having it converted to fiat like most sites and 3) no huds I believe.

I wouldn't say they have a good rep - they have a weird rule to prevent "syndicate betting" and will just steal your coins if they think you are part of a syndicate.

You'll have to define what a syndicate is on your own. The way their site works is really dumb. Basically when you bet a game for the limit they won't move the odds, but also won't let you bet the game again (ever) but will happily take a bet from some other person on the same game/side.

I used them a few years ago and would always bet them after betting some other spots, I never opened up any other additional nitro accounts to try and multi account them and they still stole a bunch of my coins presumably because whenever I bet something, others would follow me and bet the same game.

Long story short they can't be trusted.

Syndicate betting: I read this in rule 11 of General Terms and Conditions before I made account couple months ago and they don't define exactly what actions will lead them to flagging someone, other than creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits. It is a puzzling rule that stood out to me as unique, but something I, as a square, would never have to worry about.

As far as limits go, I started out taking Mayweather at -592 for 2 BTC when the limit was 3 or 5 BTC iirc and then proceeded to keep betting it as it gradually moved down to -429, even though they had by then decreased the limit to 1 or 2 BTC iirc and I was in for more than that and able to keep betting more. It made no sense that they were now lowering the betting limit, yet allowing me to circumvent it due to a line change in my favor lol. Perhaps they just made things up as the action came in on this once/lifetime fight.

What makes the most sense to me wrt to the stealing of your BTC? By invoking the cloudy, vague, and handy "syndicate betting" rule they keep on file, they pull off the money-grab and achieve their overarching goal - to deny you, specifically, any further action. Their presumption of guilt is disturbing.

Will it affect poker players (even at the nosebleeds)? Squares/small bettors? Probably not. But it's good, though disheartening, to know they shoot angles in their sportsbook when the big money comes in.

It definitely didn't seem like a set up match. Shadow Elite often sits alone at these stakes and the way in which his opponent jumped around and bought in short over and over made it seem like it was just a chance occurrence due to tilt or a desire to gamble. Was pretty crazy to watch.

I didn't realize Shadow Elite sat nosebleeds there all the time. Maybe not the worst idea to see if he can catch a whale w recent casino/sportsbook winnings. I was happy to see a hu .01/.02 BTC flhe match to join when I checked out their poker.

It's their new promo, whereby one buys in to a poker game against many players and if you win all their chips, you then win all the money they bought in with. Hence, Buy in To Cash.

Would never deposit on a site with vague rules that could actually steal your money

Also there is no reason for a sportsbook ever to do anything beyond banning someone and returning money. Betwager is okay

Unfortunately just H (fl/nl), PLO, and O8 (pl/fl). There were very few games running and I was just surprised some limit was running. I played maybe two sessions and didn't see the game run again during the few times I ever opened the client. There was a huge flhe match on the other BTC site we've messed around on that lasted a few days and like 20+ hours total at stakes around 1k/2k. That was almost two months ago though.

Why is their rake high?

I thought the advantage of a Bitcoin Room is no bank transaction fees and hence much less rake.

Why would I risk putting my money on there otherwise
