Full Tilt Poker co-founder and former CEO Raymond Bitar has handed himself in to the US authorities in New York, eGaming Review has learned.

The TwoPlusTwo poker forum was the first to break the news, with a post purporting to be an internal email sent to Full Tilt staff based in Ireland by Bitar, in which he explained that he was to “return to the US to deal with civil and criminal case that are pending against me in New York,” and all but confirmed the stricken brand’s impending acquisition by former rivals PokerStars.

Wow one time

Numerous sources have told me to expect an announcement on July 2nd. Each source is a persona friend of Howard Lederer's, but I put no credence behind this "rumor" because each source assumed that the announcement would be that the Stars Deal would be completed today. These rumors started popping up 2 weeks ago.

Based on the above, I think Bitar turning himself in is most likely the truth. The Stars assumption from my sources was most likely a pipe dream, I always assumed that they were wrong which is why I havent said anything before now. Each source was a player, (which will remain nameless), a very loyal friend of Howards, and a former FTP pro.

Either way, this is major news. I hope it is a step in the right direction.

with in 60 minutes of a post on 2plus2 they comfrim it with DOJ? bull ****. They rewrite whats on 2P2 and throw in a bit more. This BS has been going on for 14 months. Wait for the DOJ to confrim it

I'm going to finally use my "one time" in hopes that he's flipping on Howard/Chris and the other clowns in exchange for reduced sentencing. There needs to be some real jail time served for what they did to the players.
