Phil Ivey is a shattered picture of himself.

Think the list varies hugely depending on what you filter in/out. Like are we talking best 5 players of all time? If so, what discipline? Live? online? Cash? Tournaments? NLHE? Mixed Games? Are we talking top 5 influential players of all time? A lot of those lists have players on one only and very few players across multiple.

Think the only players across multiple lists from the above is Hellmuth, Doyle, Ivey and I guess maybe Dnegs?. Even then they don't make it on every one.

Lots of stories about Stu blasting off in cash games 'due' to being high or drunk .. possibly also boredom or frustration due to his high intellect. In tournaments you bust a guy, he goes away. In cash they just reload and you have to knock them off again. One story had him being staked in an event and an overwhelming chip leader after Day 1. On Day 2 he was nowhere to be found until he was well blinded off .. he won. GL

Kostrytsin and Tollerene should be high on the list. As should Ivey, even if he's gone downhill in recent years

TT , Isildur and Doyle should be in top 5, all for different reasons.

how do you almost for sure do something. It's one or the other.

Go watch your boy Jungle get dismantled by Linus in any of the high stakes cash games.

The best hand was the 88 vs 55 one. I've watched Jungle in a ton of streams - he isn't even close to Linus.

Throughout history?

1 . Wild Bill Hickok (although he is considered dead money)
2. Jesus H. Christ (seems to always know what I have)
3. Napoleon Bonaparte (small dude with a major complex)
4. Mahatma Gandhi (doesn't seem to be phased by bad beats)
5. Ghengis Kahn (plays like some crazy mongol)

Cool.

And remember when I have a hamburger, I usually have cheese on it.

Spoiler:
That's not quite true. I always have cheese on it. What kind of a monster eats a hamburger without cheese?

Viffer is grinding 2/5 in Vegas. LOL. I always hear people here like "I SEEN VIFFER PLAYING 2/5" LOL. Garrett is becoming a legend himself. Patrik is good, too... but best ever? He definitely is in some of my favorite hands the last 20 years. Durr is pretty nuts, eh? He just hasnt ran like he did years ago for a while.

I know this sounds "crazy"... but i swear, in these high-stakes battles PLO HU.. if Galfond gave me some of these chances to just end it he gives these guys, i'd do it.

That's why i like this Garrett guy... he's a genuine poker genius... and he's a great guy... that's one thing i hate about hellmuth.. like phil is a good, good person... but some times he berates people and it's like "Does he realize he's phil hellmuth?"
Lol I can't disagree with anything you said in regards to my list. As a live pro myself I respect patrik for his his overall presence and demeanor, he also seems to have adapted and adjusted over the years. I threw Viffer in there because he is a hustler lol... probably (definitely) a lifetime loser in poker. Not shocked to hear he is grinding 2-5 lol

That's kind of a tangent for this thread .. but ..

Dwan is still trekking the world playing 'good games' and if you watch some of the latest interviews and streams I think he's now involved with plenty of other side ventures (of which I have no clue what they are). He crushed 'the return' of HSP and was outstanding in the two Hustler streams IMO.

Antonius is living the dream life with a hot wife and young kids. It's been rumored that he still does 'a lot' of staking but not very well confirmed. He does pop up on Twitter once in a while, but I've not seen him play in a very long time .. there's a recent 5-card PLO hand on Twitter.

Ivey is definitely a changed man, stating more than once that poker is not a priority anymore. His 'Bac' legal issues seem to be in the past. I did see him playing 1k-2k PLO at Aria in October. His play on the streams is hardly what it once was IMO, including basically just walking off the PokerGo set. Prior engagement? Hitting the pits? Just disinterested? Who knows where our minds would be after the past 3-4 that he's gone thru. I'm not sure if the video series he did with BGreenstein was a money grab for Barry or him .. or both?

Barry did play in quite a few WSOP events with no real splash, but six cashes in deeper stacked NL events. Ivey didn't play in any WSOP events that I know of. GL
