Phew don’t try to read the whole article it’s never-ending. No doubt he is a massive douche, probably has a lot of similarities to scum poker players that constantly take advantage of rich whales, except he did it through bad movies. Also am sure he was a pain in the ass to work for but there was a lot of LA complaining about other LA people which has a way of diminishing your sympathy for everyone involved.
Does feel like there is a connection to the biggest whales who have no desire to improve at poker and their proclivities toward scamming outside of poker.
I'm not surprised this happened to him. It was going to catch up to him eventually.
Every time I've watched him play poker, he seemed to have this very desperate need to belittle everyone in the game to make himself seem richer, smarter, and more superior.
I'm surprised his act has lasted as long as it has.
Somehow he luckboxed his way into a couple martin scorsese films so it gave him couple more years. He also milked bruce willis. But Willis quit acting recently due to health issues so that cow is gone. I have no idea how he gets involved in these films considering his awful personality.
His latest film "Midnight in the Switchgrass" costs 15 million dollars and according to box office mojo has only made 200k so far.
What gets me after reading the LA Times piece was how he made his assistants who were pretty much all starting out and had no money, he made all of them pay out of pocket for almost everything. These assistants had to beg their parents for money just to satisfy that gas bag Emmett. Just sick. Then you'd see him show up to televised cash games on PNIA, buy in for 30k and call raises every deal with garbage hands and donk off the whole thing.
