Nitrogen is primarily a sports betting site. The poker is an added feature but they don't really promote it, it is intended as a feature for their sportsbook whales to use when they feel like playing some cards. Therefore, there is no real point in having super-competitive rake.
The rakeback programs (including a 1.5BTC prizepool freeroll that gets 5 entrants every week, u need 1000 flops seen at 1/2 to qualify) and the softness of games (very few pure poker players on the tables, mostly sports gamblers) more than make up for it
