i don´t think he went bust because of poker. seems like he had quite a few bad habits which seperates him from todays winners who live and behave like true athletes.
yeah i'm sure you're at least partially right if not fully correct, but you gotta think about it man, all these teenagers with infinite money at their disposal seem to all be destined to go broke if they continue playing those uber high stakes. if the game is about winning money, than taking ur winning's and investing them soundly in things that will at the very least net you a small gain with no possibility of loss, or at least a very very small chance of it as nothing is 100% guaranteed.
it seems most of the kids these days have ego's that are way to big and unmanagebale and people riding their jocks and giving them ego boosts always lead to a bad downward spiral. for every story you hear of someone being smart with their money, there are 50 kids who had millions who lost it all by continuing to play that high for no reason other than to prove that they can. its sorta like when you're in high school and you play basketball, you always want to play with the older college kids, or play in the best aau leagues, but in the end a lot of kids burn out on playing ball or get seriously injured and their careers are over before they started, and they have nothing to fall back on, no education, no job experience, nothing. that is the same thing that is happening to this generation of kids who adopted poker as their hobby instead of playing a real sport.
having a few million liquid when you're 20 years old is probably the worst possible thing for any kid because you'll never really know the real worth of money, its not a knock, just a fact of the matter. there is no way you could know the real worth if you're playing 200/400 NL because if you did there is no way you would be playing 4 tables with at least 160k total spread out, its insane
