Obviously there's a lot I'd have to negotiate in the fine details but I'd definitely consider doing something like this, I'm the other way around--I have to go without human interaction. I'd bet I've actually done 30 straight days never talking to anyone in my life at some point.

The constant dark is the biggest challenge, but I definitely wouldn't go insane over it, I do expect I'd lose all track of time/days at some point so I'd probably want something that told me what day it was.

Unless they are under or over feeding him he can sort of keep track of time by the amount of food he has eaten.

Does anyone still think this joke of a story is true? It was more believable before the extra details came out.

Now we have his lawyer sister watching the guy 24/7, and that one best result might be a TV show of an almost black screen with a guy either doing nothing for a month or slowly going insane and blind in front of willing witnesses.

So if after a week the guy is screaming to be let out and clawing at and smashing his face on the walls, the lawyer sister will use as her defence that the door was open and he could have walked out at any time - it was his free choice to self-harm - while the State Prosecution is claiming that this was the very case that started a spate of kidnapping and inhumane torture in the guise of innocent new betting games?

Ya know after reading this I think most people (me included) have been thinking about it the wrong way. It's probably not a torture test for this guy, it's something he actually wants to do. Which could be why he took even odds. Maybe he views it as a bonus for doing a dark retreat he's been wanting to do.

If you view it as torture it seems impossible. If you're into meditations etc maybe it's within reach. I know I certainly couldn't but I guess it's up some folks alley.

a refrigerator with a front and back door would be perfect. Load the food from the back without the person in the room knowing about it. No interaction, noise or light.
