I would give anyone 10to1 or highter that they could not complete this if it weren't for the fact that I would feel horrible for destroying someone psychologically.

Has anyone commenting seen ANY RESEARCH on the psychological impact of solitary confinement. Even in Solitary you get light, limited human interaction and exercise.

I thought the $1000 Mcdonalds bet was horrible but this takes it to a whole new level

That's a good point. Probably unlikely, but there's a significant difference in odds for most people if there is a tough of light that your eyes adjust to over time allowing you to know when it is day vs night.

There should be a little bit of red light coming from the camera in order for it to have night vision. Also, as others have mentioned, he most certainly can hear sounds from the outside. Also helpful.

That said, I could not do this for any amount of money.

I'm super anal with thermostats, too - I wonder what temperature they decided on.

I saw a Rich on the list for 25/50 PLO today at Bellagio and figured he caved. Any updates?

Can anyone elaborate on why Richard is a scumbag?

In order to account for any outside noise we can have fans or white noise makers running outside the room. It should be pretty easy to make the bathroom dark I think. However, if need be, I can wear a mask over my eyes that blocks the minuscule amount of remaining light that is left. I do think darkness is probably the hardest aspect of this but if we add white noise makers that will add another layer of difficulty to this challenge.

White noise would make someone sleep more than they normally would want to under the circumstances but it may reduce stress to some degree so it's probably a push effects-wise. If I were betting the don't I'd suggest pink noise to mask sounds meanwhile hoping the resemblance to rainfall would work as a subliminal form of water torture.

ever hear of tinnitus? I hadn't until my head injury and mine goes from the static sound of the tv when the screen is the grey fuzz to ringing but it's not too bad and doesn't bother me. But for some apparently it's quite a problem, and people have committed suicide over it Ive read.

edit - i dont even notice it a lot of the time but certain situations cause to increase. One being thinking about it, leading me to think that it'd be much worse under the terms of this prop bet for me so ya you may be onto something.
