Sounds like he got robbed by "ship it holla robbers"...but seriously probably just stainless steel revolvers, im guessing?...or they could be chrome but even that is super flashy. Either way dude needs to get some better home defense other than a baseball bat and stop opening the door to random people that come knocking. A $500 gun could have saved him from a 150k robbery, dude could have lost his life, kids, wife or whatever as well...not to mention these guys still know where he lives.

I have yet to wrap my mind around this idea.

So ... the suggestion is that he just starts firing through the door when the would-be robbers knock, or he waits and takes the shoot-out when he's actually seen them point their firearms at him?

Are you guys like 9 years old?

Nothing like the article starting out with the street he lives on.... lol

its so different in real life. i think i can handle myself, but someone pulled a blade on me when i was driving my taxi once, i was ok at the time, but like an hour later i just burst into tears for like 30 mins. so i did the obvious thing and went to the local strip club mid-shift, then went back to work.

Or more like a $500 gun could have ended up with him getting shot and/or killed as well as losing his $150k?

Or worse yet, end up shooting somebody innocent because it wasn't actually a robbery and end up having to take a plea bargain for life without the possibility of parole to avoid the death penalty?

Yup, owning that $500 gun sounds like a great idea!

His name is Jerad Klick and most of the money stolen was in poker chips.

You call the cops everytime 2 cars park in front of your house and someone knocks at your door?

Yes, 100% of the time... assuming I had just brought home $150K in cash.

I like your approach in the aftermath of a life threatening situation, carry on!

+1

It is so much different in real life. I had a blade pulled on me for my Hublot outside a club in London about 1 1/2 years ago. You think you know what to do in these situations, but when it actually occurs everything just goes into super slo-mo and you just freeze completely. I must have checked my self for stab wounds for an hour after the incident. Sympathy to the victim here.

Suspicious vehicle/person calls are very common for law enforcement agencies. The department I was with received dozens every day. Usually they turned out to be nothing, but occasionally they ended up being burglars, etc.

lol at all the people telling this guy what to do
u guys has never been robbed before thats clear as cristal
01-11-2014 , 10:03 AM
Why the hell do some on you guys think that a gun would save him from losing money? OK well maybe, but it would probably get him killed too, so...
01-11-2014 , 10:09 AM
Anyone who thinks a gun would have been a help here is a huge ****ing idiot.

He should have looked out the window first. Idk maybe he thought they were neighbors.

Keeping $150k at home is an expensive mis-Klick

If he is a live "pro poker player" what is he doing in Cleveland, Ohio? By just looking at Bravo the biggest game in that room is 2/5 NLHE. So I call BS that these were "poker winnings" unless he just carries around his entire net worth with him in casino chips and cash....

Also, expecting a lawsuit against Horseshoe Cleveland for not having boxes (I thought all casinos had boxes but I guess lol Cleveland).

There's a thread in the Medium-High full ring forum about a group of 3 regs whose separate houses were all robbed the same night they were all out playing. I wonder what the rates are on this and what the common ways are for the criminal to find out where you live. I guess they could follow you home or have help from some casino personnel who might have access to addresses. And of course every dealer HAS to put the comp card face up with your name on it when holding your seat. With a name I assume some connecting data floating out there or simple ruses might lead to an address.

There should be a sticky or something with pro tips on not getting robbed. I think using a P.O. box as one defense against casino employee's is a good tactic but I'm hardly a security expert.

Yeah the story doesn't seem to add up at that point. He's suspicious enough to grab a bat but not enough to look out the window or through the peephole? Not trying to call BS but just sayin...

The radio host said something about him taking pictures of his chips/cash and posting it on facebook but he said he couldn't comment. Not too smart. Also can he make any homeowner's/renters insurance claim?
