Coinpoker is an interesting one. Seems every other day it's having a new record for it's largest game ever. People playing with USDT for 6/7-figure sums happens almost daily on this website - only two weeks ago there seemed to be an 8-hour 500/1000 every single day. Is this a marketing ploy, or are these unverified players legitimate?

prolly legit. leon (owner of kings casino) and tony g have been playing insanely high stakes for a long time live and online. why shouldnt it be legit here, whales having fun plus the occasional pros (prolly selling action)

but for me the fascination is not there compared to the old Isildur, Antonius, durrrr games, dont care how big the pots get nowadays in some obscure games

If we go off track record of online poker then no it’s probably not legit , most likely laundering / rat hole or marketing ploy. Especially these days almost laughable to think that it’s legit . We will never see legit stakes that high online again IMO.

each usdt is backed by USD, i guess u know not much about crypto. it is legit, i played there years ago, i even played isildur1 once high on weed lol

Bitcoin did 20x since the march 2020 low, plus other crypto has 50x since then. Might just be a few guys who dropped $5k on shib and found themselves up $1billion in USDT.

USDT/Tether has extremely questionable backing, but for the last 5+ years has always been redeemable for $$/USD and is a huge part of the crypto ecosystem with ~$5B in daily transactions. Just because it has potential to blow up does not mean that transactions involving it(including this game), are fraudulent.

As long as the site and tether are liquid it's real money. Thus it is real money.

Wether the site and/or tether will remain liquid for x amount of time is a different subject all together. The money is at this time real and possible to cash out

a) I suspect that CoinPoker is likely to be legit

b) Over the years, various folks have sat at limit games (which have no limit on buyin) with very high balances - I suspect that one of those had a bigger stack in online poker than these.

I would be much more concerned about getting that money or coin or USDT from Coinpoker than I would be with Tether, which rightfully people are skeptically about.
