The poker boom made stars out of Matusow, Hansen, Moneymaker, Negreanu, Hellmuth and some others.

Which post-Boom players would have become huge (and possibly mainstream) stars had they been born at the right time?

Definitely Jungle. Doug, Lex, Chicago Joey, or maybe Shaun Deeb or Kitty Kuo? All those older players became stars mainly bc of their personalities and memorableness(not a word?) not necessarily bc of their skills. So for that reason, I think Colman and the Germans probably wouldn't qualify along with a lot of the top regs today.

Most of the players now will likely have won more money than the above, but if the winners are all hoodied, sunglasses wearing GTObots with the charisma of a brick, the general public would not be interested in the game at all and you have no boom in the first place.
