As a former massgrinder I have to say that’s probably the best thing they’ve done in a very long time.

can you please elaborate? , i play a lot of tables too and yes obviously if i play less tables my wr is higher but my hourly is less IMO , maybe im missing something because i m not 100% sure if this is good news or bad or whatever.

It's obviously so that a reg cannot play 20 tables and make the game boring for everyone.

Where are you based? I just played 8 tables no problem on the main DOTCOM site

Support says some players will be able to play more tables for a while (the ones who increased or decreased their table cap manually) i also played 8 tabling today but most regs are capped to 6 tables now

I wouldn't have minded 4 or 5 tbh, might deposit and see what's up after this change.

It's been an ugly divorce from pokerstars, but it was a toxic relationship since he cheated on me with amaya. I must move on.

there's more to it than that.
The slower and more boring the game, the better and more profitable it is.
You need players playing sub-optimal hands out of boredom.
You don't want games with nut-peddling nits.
The most exciting games are the boring ones.
And you want players moving up rather than 24-tabling microstakes.

I like this change, grinders like ttesone were annoying just clogging everytable and being slow

I read that some players saying the number of tables depends on how fast a person acts while playing, so maybe I can sit at 24 tables because i play fast ? That said, i still curious about how many tables its the ''default'' a player can sit at pokerstars cash games

Senior agent just confirmed that the maximum is 24 and he is not aware if any upcoming changes regarding this

By the way, I can't see how this table cap is good for pokerstars or to amateurs (fishs) . its bad for everyone .

Zoom is running with decent action and kills bumhunter, makes everyone pays lots of rake. Also, with 4 entry per pool, 8 entry total, makes the games not heavy regs. Its a win situation for PokerStars, big popular format thats working fine. Imagine cut 8 zoom from 2 entry maximum. (8 zoom = 24 normal tables. ) Why Stars would do this ?

Lets talk about tournaments. think about all regs playing maximum 6 tables ... ALL gtd from tournaments would have a massive cut. Why Stars want do this ?

And the normal cash game tables. Ok I understand that to make a table run you need an amateur and most tables with 5 regs and 1 amateur has a wait list, however, if you cap 6tables per person, im sure less tables will run . its obvious. Just see the lobby at small stakes.

In my opinion this wouldn't make any sense to PokerStars , obviously thinking about their point of view and interest . Just less rake, less money. Saying this would improve Stars situation is stupid.

Now, think from regs who play tons of tables. They won't quit online poker, they will open 6 tables on Stars and 12+ on PartyPoker and other sites avaliable. Which means, the ''boring'' regs will stay ''boring'' and the time you have to wait to play a hand, actually will increase because its faster to act playng at only 1 site than 2-3diferent sites, especially when this 1 site has the best software in the market.

I imagine Stars doing this at smaller player pool like france, italy etc, could make sense, but at their main site dotcom, would be the death of the site.

And the last, I can't understand why you guys complain about ''boring'' regs massive tabling and why this would make poker better for you. Ok i get wait long time to someone folds its ''boring'', but this doesn't happens often nowadays .


PS: Stars closed all 25/50 tables a while ago and make only zoom , few months (maybe weeks, im not sure), Stars noticed that actually killed their games and changed again and put back the 25/50 normal tables avaliable again. Stars its the devil, but they want make more tables running (for obvious reasons).

Actually Stars would rather have tons of 24tabling microstakes players than turning this guys into skilled players moving up to higher stakes.

Many pros, and I dare to say, most of pros nowadays at Stars play fast and are NOT nut peddling nits . Most of this guys you described either stoped playing since SNE is not avaliable or moved to Party hunting rakeback .

I only play zoom but tried right now and i'm able to play 10+ tables.

Support told me some players are going to be able to play more tables for a while and others are capped now to 6

like the header says, the table limit only applies to cash games, not MTTs ... i believe, PS couldn't care less, if some of the mass tabler move away. also it's doubtful, that all of them will find action on other sites. and as many have pointed out, the "oh, they take so long to click" is only one reason (and the official one). it seems very reasonable to assume, that if you limit the amount of table, some players (at the bottom of the pyramid) will move away and the money flows upward (and will be raked more).
