The cap is likely set to keep traditional mass grinding winning players to play at a higher stakes as they won't be able to earn the same while having only 6 games running even at the higher winrate per hand. This softens their former stake up and losing players will have a smaller loss rate which creates more profit to Stars.
Certain players can ask for more tables? Is this based on time to act or rather that players win/loss rate?

Zoom tables don't have the same restrictions as rec players play tighter then on regular tables and have a lower loss rate.

From our Ring Games Manager:

Quote:
We’re constantly looking for ways to improve the player experience and one of the areas we’ve focused on this year has been the speed of our games.

A few months back, we responded to players’ concerns about the impact that current time-to-act and Time Bank settings, as well as multi-tabling, were having on our cash games by conducting trial reductions in both, the latter in Italy.

We wanted to see what positive effect, if any, the trialled changes had on play.

These tests were not rolled out to any other markets. We’re sorry that a customer support response gave the impression that we had made permanent changes to our games.

But, just because the trials have not been rolled out further does not mean the case is closed. We still want to hear from players and always welcome feedback.

Seems OP is lyeing or idk what poker online support he is sending emails lol.

Email I received from PokerStars.

-------------------

Hello Alexei,

Thanks for contacting us.

To answer your question we can confirm that manual change of the tables' number is not possible. The limits are the same for all of our players, as following:

In order to provide a better playing experience for players, we have implemented individual cash game table limits.

Previously, there was a hard limit of 24 cash game tables that any player can simultaneously play. Now, this limit will be set individually for each player, by us, using an automated system.

At the beginning of each month, we will calculate how quickly you have acted on each hand, on average, during the previous month. If your time to take each action has been too slow, your table limit will be lowered. If your actions were quick and you have played a high number of tables at a time, your table cap will be raised.

The average player will not notice any changes. Their maximum limit will remain at 24 tables.

If changes have been made to the number of tables you can play, an email notification will be sent to your registered email address.

At this time, Multi-Table and Sit & Go Tournaments will not be affected.

These changes have been made based on extensive player feedback and we hope that we can continue to provide the best playing experience for our players.

Regarding your other question about the Zoom tables' limit we can inform you that rules remain the same:

A player can join up to 4 times in the same Zoom game (except for Heads Up Zoom games, where the maximum number of entries per Zoom pool is 2), so it will count as 12 Real Money tables.

This means that a player can enter up to 8 Zoom games before you meet the 24 maximum number of Cash Game tables allowed.

If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact us.
Regards,

So funny that stars is protecting the recs and other nonsense when they still allow players to use the most effective predatory tool out there. Or they just want to move all the action to zoom who knows.

Who cares. Just play 6 tables on Stars if you want and another 6 tables on another site where you actually get Rakeback

i email them again asking to increase my maximum amount of cash tables that i can play and this is their reply , weird can anybody here confirm they are capped to 6 tables ?

Hello XXX,

Thank you for contacting us.

We regret to have to inform you that we can not increase the maximum amount of Cash tables to 8 for you.

The Poker Management has decided that, as of 17.10.2018, the maximum amount of tables allowed for every player is 6. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Should you have any further questions, please let us know.

For now, we wish you the best of luck at the tables and a lovely afternoon!

Regards,

What is it you don't understand? OP is not lying, Pokerstars Support gave him the wrong information by mistake. A Pokerstars rep has already posted in this thread explaining what went wrong, and why people can still play more than 6 tables. See post #30 in this thread.

If you have better ratio rec/reg that is better for the games. If you cannot clone yourself 24 times that will make that ration better because recs don't clone themselves that much.

Even for zoom, I would limit to 2 entries. Regs play fewer hands so they fold more and they play more hands. Also, they play with 4 entries while recs play with 1-2 which makes rec/reg much worse than in real life.

If it is harder for you to make your hourly with a reduced number of tables then you would move up which means that it would also make it better for the game.
