As a continent I also think that's the case. Even if brazil contributes with the most net deposits as a country. Then there's also argentina/canada/mexico, but agreed eurozone has the biggest number of players.

Party's stock is down because management is really poor mo.

Stars is down because they paid about 2 billion too much for Sky poker and investors didn't like the numbers. I don't agree with the direction Stars has taken over the past few years but I don't question their intelligence.

And looks like the others still dropped 10 points less on the same timeframe of the past 6 months, which is amusing for a company that's only interested in shortsightedly squeezing out every last penny from its customers in a predatory manner.
I'm guessing that part of the problem is not getting new victims. Payment processors are dropping. I used to have VISA and Entropay as options but they stopped allowing them in my country. I now have to use Bitcoin to load my account. Not everyone is comfortable using crypto. Who wants to open a new account and have to jump through so many hoops to start gambling? Only the most degenerate gamblers I would think. The original boom started when there was no payment regulation. As players go broke and stop playing new people aren't coming in. Just a guess of course.

5k players on avg to go to 10k players?
So, half the buy-in, double the field and the variance making it harder overall ?

More people would probably give it a shot now with the smaller buy in. Get more recs to give a shot.
agree. good change.

The first edition of this finished at just after 8am GMT time, 9am CET, 10am Eastern European Time. That's way to late/early for where the majority of the field reside. If you halve the buyin, it's to attract recreational players. By definition, recreational players have jobs.

As I've written in recent past in another thread

Quote:
They're going to cut 5 million+ just in the sunday million alone this year. This was the first week, so it was a novelty and got more players. When it gets closer to the 1-1.1 million mark, the difference on the final table alone will be 90k+ per week plus the higher rake.
It was already mentioned here. The smaller and more distributed individual prizes will be raked more often again and again. I'm sure most of the cashouts in this tournament came from the final table from recs and regs alike.
It's confirmed:

The field size of the PokerStars Sunday Million has dropped every week since they lowered the buy-in to $109 from $215 on January 27. Jan 27: 15,550 Feb 3: 13,228 ⬇️ Feb 10: 12,371 ⬇️ Feb 17: 11,732 ⬇️ Feb 24: 11,559 ⬇️ Mar 3: 11,525 ⬇️ Mar 10: 10,469 ⬇️ Mar 17: 10,360
Now that they are going to promote the next anniversary Sunday Million, it's important to post this here. I know high stakes players got very worried with the cutting of SNE or when pokerstars increases the rake in some high stakes PKO they get all vocal about it.

But this is where it's at. If you guys are worried about the future of online poker, it's with the most known tournament you should be concerned about, and when the small stakes cash games get close to unbeatable rake. But I know how it is, every man for himself etc.

Worst idea ever. Should let people buy in for half stack $109 and $215 for a full stack.

Is the sunday million still on east coast US time? Schedule says it starts at 1pm sunday EST. Which is late evening in europe. And early monday morning in Asia.

Same thing with USD still being the primary currency of the site.

Do those times and currency actually work out for any players on the site?

After all the comments on people saying the Milly starts too late for Euros, they move the start time to an hour later.

The currency they use is completely irrelevant as long as they allow players to make currency conversions at no fee in the client. Agree that the SM time should be changed though.

Hi guys, I was looking at the last Sunday million payouts on the 31st of march and noticed that the name changed to Sunday million knockout and had a smaller payout with bounties.

Is this the new format now or was it a one off? It would be very unfortunate if the former is the case.
