PokerStars to Launch Six Plus Hold'em - Page 2 - Poker News

About 17 years ago, my site offered Limit Holdem Hi-Lo (because our developers thought it was a game and built it by mistake along with the rest of the holdem and plo offered.)

We left it up for about 6 months, but it never caught on, so we dropped it eventually.

I also think pot limit hi lo games are inherently more appealing than a no limit variety of the same game.

Tell you what, if you and sixfour want to play stud and draw, both of which were at one time offered online, go ahead and offer some site that has them programmed a four-wall deal, where you will pay $X for the right to all revenue generated from those games and promote the hell out of them...... Who knows, you might be the next poker millionare ?

I thought I invented this game years ago and used to play it with my kids because it was more exciting, especially short handed. I got the idea from Devilfish poker, they used to have 32 card draw, which basically was 32 card deck , 5 card draw (6+) with the same rank of hands (straight beats flush etc.) and was a great game with a lot of action.

Thanks stars for giving me the shut out on my fave game.

This probably won't be very successful as they are playing that trips beat straights and it will probably be played with blinds.

The version that has caught fire in Asia is ante only where straights beat trips. Connectors such as JT, T8, and the like hold much more value and creates much more action.

I believe the scoring variation that is going to stick is flush beating full houses being the only difference.

Not played it yet, but having seen a few of the Triton vids I see how it could become huge. It's the sexier young cousin of NLH.

Not to mention - short deck PLO, short deck HORSE, short deck TD..........short deck short deck short deck

Seems like early strategy looks like almost playing a limit style PLO

I've played this a little bit, the biggest problem with 6+ is hand rankings are different. New players get enraged and quit quickly. On the plus side, lots of people play preflop like regular and that's a mistake.

Game has the same problem as holdem of being boring though unfortunately even though you do get better hands dealt more often.

I'm more miffed as to why Stars have taken so long to get it going when WPN have had it for ages, and why they have this FUSION crap at 5k nl???? LMAO

So any site that promotes the game with Dwan and Ivey's picture is spreading a different game. One that neither one of them or the Asian gamblers would play.

Trips > Straights has no future so it's a waste of time for everyone involved
