tbh "If no winner is decided within a specified number of hands, all remaining players go all-in" feels to me like "We are setting this number to such a low amount, that the gametype becomes unbeatable - just like our latest fun format "Beat The Clock". Happy if this is not the case, let's see

I just opened a couple 1$ things to check what they mean with "specific number". It's 20 hands for 9% rake (which is obv hidden on the last tab of tourney lobby), confirmed raketrap and intellectually insulting offer.
P.S.: 3 hands per level.

Best guess for next game: Coinflip for 10% rake.

Would be nice if a mod could change the title to make sure ppl instantly see that this is not a beatable poker variant but an unbeatable gambling offer.

Definitely sounds very hard to beat.

I guess they are very pleased with the success of Spin'n'Go. I wouldn't seriously play them but know a couple people who started playing online poker again after Stars introduced the format. Obv none of them is good at poker so I have to believe the games are really soft, but that doesn't make them easy to beat with the high rake.

Not stupid if they had just flips for say 1% rake they would make less maybe?

Same as all in with a gimmicky angle

Don't mind odd flip and would pay say 3% rake for that , bit weird that they have make you play poker to basically flip anyways.

Haha that's a cool way to earn revenue. I remember a couple of years (not sure which thread) somebody suggested an idea to have video ads during the tournament breaks. I wouldn't mind watching ads even for 1 or 2 star coins.

But yeah Spin n Go max format looks interesting and has the potential to bring new players but the prizes are meh.

To all those whining about the rake, well this game is made/targetted for players who don't really care about the rake/rakeback, they play to simply have fun. If you think rake is high, don't play it.

I think that peoples issue isn't that they can't win at the format. It's that creating these games and driving fun players towards them takes the fun players out of the cash games/SNGs etc.

I guess it's not "whining about the rake", everybody who makes money at poker can do his own quick calculation to prove this is not a poker game (as in "a game where u can make ev bucks by skill advantage") but an offer targeted at gamblers who are willing to pay a high (hidden!) prize for having fun with cards.

It is about informing people what is offered, at which price and stating clearly this is not a game to make ev money with.

This is a straight up lottery/casino game. It has no buisness being offered under the poker client. Yes you can skew the odds a little in your favour by running up a big stack prior to it getting to the all in shootout stage but with such a small number of hands of play even this becomes a matter of complete luck.

As they say, a lottery is a tax on those who are bad at math. So you would have to be an idiot to play this game thinking it could be +EV. If you want to gamble it up with the realization that you can only expect to loose money, then I guess have at it. Or go buy a lottery ticket or play roulette or a slot machine machine. Either way this is not a poker game it is a poker themed casino game and it should not be allowed in any poker client. This is a very stupid buisness move that runs a big risk of regulatory backlash.

a btnclicker rec usually doesnt last more than 20 hands in a regular spin, but once he does he gets crushed in hu ev (if he is vs reg). so i guess its prolly not that bad for spin recs $ev wise. i also doubt it takes away enough recs from regular spins for regs to be too worried.

Want to gamble think roulette would be the way to go as it is most fun and more bang for your buck , roulette around 97.3% pay out lottery tickets around 55% lottery about 10% min cash and 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000.1 jackpot , poker spin go max 91% pay out,

What are online slots pay out? About 94% pay out?????? If you spin more on slots say $2 a spin instead of say 25cents a spin is the pay out increased the more money you spin ??????

Any one know?? Always wondered that not able find answers online.

So I went ahead and tried a $1 one. Ignoring the massive raketrap, I had 6 players and the prizes were $1.50, $1.50, $7.50.

this **** is disgusting. i truly wish someone would open a worldwide including US based poker site (high traffic) that doesnt suck balls.

i could play at pokerstars now in 2017 if i wanted but i SPITE dont. last major deposit was 5000 on june 2014 gg

im the epitome of an online rec player, but i wont go near stars anymore.
