I hope this is not true, due to the increased rake I and a lot of other players had to pay to play some online poker.
Some games became tough to beat, HU Hypers have a 7+% rake and some games were simply EV-, like Spin and goes were raked near 10%....

Seems to be corporate tax rather than gaming duty. So the Italian govt appears to want two bites of Italian players rake - if they tax professionals as well it would be a third bite. Oh there's vat as well that's a fourth bite.

Pretty funny considering the whole point of having .fr, .it, and etc was to avoid situations like this.

Concerning Monte Paschi, yes there has been a huge assets loss due to its policy of financing (you can call it a "mafia", but it's not, is more like a huge political and territorial lobbying), but yet, it's overall loss was around couple billions, and it's the only loss of this type, to date, for the finacial crisis in Italy, a small fraction compared to aig, lehman, northern rock etc etc. Monte Paschi was the wealthiest and the oldest bank here in Italy, was very strong in terms of assets, this helped a lot (financial market not percetly developed in terms of connections and complexity)

The fiscal enforcment is rude and "violent", you dont want to deal with it... and they are famous for "overshooting" people, companies with a 50% ratio of "shipping it"

I would write for hours as it's full of contraddictions in every corner you look at. But i think it's complicated to understand from abroad.

I am not an expert regarding tax laws, even tho I am italian.
So could somebody illuminate me and explain to me, if this is just a desperate move by the italian goverment or did PS.it avoid taxation by illegal means?
