Italy is so corrupt its laughable that they sue for tax evasion.
whats up with Monte Paschi. I bet those banksters are not even charged yet. Guess stars didnt pay the Pizzo...the real Italian taxes
It wont collapse as it sit on one of the wealthiest economy in the world in terms of financial assets.
The govt sure is greedy and overspending, and that's a fact
Also the total tax rate is very high and leads to tax avoidance.
The guy claiming there is an overwhelming level of regulation is also right (milions of laws, literally, believe me or not)
Concerning Monte Paschi, yes there has been a huge assets loss due to its policy of financing (you can call it a "mafia", but it's not, is more like a huge political and territorial lobbying), but yet, it's overall loss was around couple billions, and it's the only loss of this type, to date, for the finacial crisis in Italy, a small fraction compared to aig, lehman, northern rock etc etc. Monte Paschi was the wealthiest and the oldest bank here in Italy, was very strong in terms of assets, this helped a lot (financial market not percetly developed in terms of connections and complexity)
The fiscal enforcment is rude and "violent", you dont want to deal with it... and they are famous for "overshooting" people, companies with a 50% ratio of "shipping it"
I would write for hours as it's full of contraddictions in every corner you look at. But i think it's complicated to understand from abroad.
I feel ashamed and proud to be italian (as my avat shows, self trolling
)
